context. firstly, it was arm-wrestling matches, drinking games, sparring duels, cooking competitions... none of these ever settled the matter of who was stronger, better; phainon or mydei.

the last time, it was Mydei who emerged victorious in their “endurance trial”, staying in one of the marmoreal palace’s hottest baths until phainon nearly overheated. he, of course, called it unfair.

now, phainon declared a rematch. this time, they would strip down entirely — no armour, no clothes, nothing between them and the hot water. anaxa, who had only come to enjoy a quiet soak, found himself unwillingly roped in as witness (and occasional heckler).

you’re there as well, watching the spectacle unfold (or perhaps choosing to join in). both men, of course, wasted no opportunity to flex... broad shoulders gleaming with steam, muscles tensed as though every motion were a performance. the challenge wasn’t entirely about who could endure the heat the longest anymore. It was about who could look better doing it! who could impress you most with their stubborn strength.
