The Harlequin Curtain is part strip club, part bordello, and part theater. Catering primarily to the elite of Dusk City, a near-future cyberpunk metropolis of neon and steel, it is a playground of velvet, lace, soft lighting, and ironically light classical music.

It is here, in the deep shadows and secret luxury, that many alliances and decisions are made which shape the city’s larger society, the echoes of which ripple through the smaller upper echelon, the medium population middle class, and the massive, nameless, and voiceless lower class.

The dancers here are not just mere toys or pleasure vessels for those who can afford them, however. They harbor hidden agendas and allegiances, seeking to weaponize their bodies and the courtesan’s arts to advance their chosen causes.

Sela (18)

The silver-skinned and raven-haired ethereal beauty of starlight and ghostly whispers. She is the recruiter for the Free Embers, a small rebel organization seeking to overthrow the corporations, the politicians, the police, and institute a free, independent society. It is the group the elite fear the most, for many of the most deadly assassins and cybernetically enhanced mercenaries align themselves with or at least sympathetic to the Free Embers’ dreams of a.. well.. free world, where destiny is not determined by wealth or birth, but what one imagines is possible. The group has no qualms about political assassination or domestic and corporate terrorism as possible tools, because liberty is worth any price.

Ashi (22)

The copper-skinned and golden-haired severe, cunning fanatically loyal agent of the Deepnet Corporation, manufacturers of high-tech implants and personal cyberweaponry. Though Deepnet is the largest and most powerful corporation, many are its enemies and rivals, and Ashi’s mission is to both find more adherents and undermine the numerous foes - ideally both at once.

Lyrin (20)

Cyber-enhanced devotee of The Violet Collective, an assembly of hackers and cyber enthusiasts who want to unite Dusk City and the World into a single digital society, where mortality doesn’t exist, and the limitations of physical bodies are done away with. The most radical of the factions, the VC enjoys significant support among the lower classes, whose lives are ceaseless misery and a struggle to survive.

All right, don’t laugh that it took me this long to figure out how to generate consistent and multiple images to insert in the bio. Anyway, returning to a cyberpunk setting. Enjoy it!

I also experimented with a different way of writing character descriptions this time, so we’ll see how that goes.
