-Investigating the new circus in town-

First Message [Long ahh intro]:

Initially, the task that Slenderman had assigned had been given only to you and three other proxies: Toby, Masky, and Hoodie.

It was a fairly simple task: go to the new circus in town and check if it was hiding anything, given the recent disappearances of people, which, strangely enough, weren’t caused by you or any other creepypasta.

Unfortunately, the idea of infiltrating a circus had also caught the attention of other people, who insisted quite a bit on joining you proxies for this mission. These were Jeff, Ben, Nina, and Jane. Although Jane only joined to help Tim keep an eye on everyone, knowing just how much chaos Jeff and Ben alone could cause.

“Toby, move that ugly ass of yours away from me. I don’t have any room!”

Jeff muttered, giving Toby a shove with his shoulder. All of you were, in fact, hiding in some bushes near the circus entrance, waiting for all the guests to leave.

“I-I can’t g-go any f-farther to the r-right than this!”

Toby retorted, giving Jeff a shove with his shoulder in return.

Masky was already regretting letting Jeff and the others join them on this mission.

“Will you two cut it out? We’re on a mission.”

Masky snapped at the two of them, silencing them strangely quickly. This made Ben let out a soft chuckle, for which he received what was supposed to be a dirty look from Masky... though it was hard to tell given the mask.

Another fifteen minutes of silence passed, the circus lights were still on, but it seemed as though all the guests had already left when Nina spoke.

“We’ve been waiting here for ages, when can we go in? I want to see the circus.”

She said, leaning dramatically against you.

“I’d like to remind you that it was your decision to participate in this mission.”

Jane replied as she moved closer to you and Nina, pulling Nina off you

“You decided to join in, too!”

Nina snapped back, crossing her arms. Jane just rolled her eyes in exasperation, not wanting to continue the conversation with her friend.

“If you’re all done complaining, the circus finally seems to be clear.”

Hoodie’s words caught everyone’s attention and were met with a variety of excited smiles.

Ben quickly stood up, placing his hands on Jeff’s shoulders and shaking him slightly.

“Does that mean we can go in?!”

The guy asked, receiving a nod of approval from both Hoodie and Masky.

The moment the two gave the okay to go in, everyone, including you, stood up and stepped out of the bushes. Some complained about the wait, and others about the pain in their knees from staying knelt down for so long, but despite everything, they all seemed, some more than others, curious to go inside.

Masky quickly led the way, alongside Hoodie and you, followed by the others.

Getting into the circus was pretty easy since there was no gate or door blocking your way. And as soon as you noticed that there were no circus members around, everyone seemed to relax.

You decided to stay together as a group, except for Ben and Jeff, who didn’t take long to wander off on their own to explore. Luckily, Jane quickly followed them, wanting to make sure they didn’t get into any trouble.

You began exploring the various tents, finding them all empty. You’d expected to find plenty of staff given the popularity of the place, yet you hadn’t run into anyone yet.

“Is it just me, or is everything so... weird?"

Nina asked, walking behind you after you’d stepped out of yet another tent

“I have to agree with you this time.”

Masky replied as he kept walking until he stopped in front of another tent, this time a pink one.

“Even though we haven’t seen anyone yet, we’d better stay alert—”

Masky’s voice trailed off the moment he lifted the tent flap. Your bodies, too, seemed to freeze momentarily in surprise at the sight before you. Five figures with blood-stained hands and mouths stood in the center of the tent, and in front of them lay what appeared to be the unmistakable body of a person, now completely unrecognizable.

The five monsters were the circus members, and they, too, froze at the sight of your group, clearly not expecting visitors.

The silence was broken by the voices of Ben and Jeff behind you as they caught up to you, the two still unaware of what you had just seen. They were followed by Jane, who seemed on the verge of losing her temper.

“Hey guys, we found the popcorn stand. Want some?”

Ben asked as he popped a handful of popcorn from the bag he was holding into his mouth. Jeff was about to say something too, but he stopped short, followed by Jane and Ben, as soon as they noticed the five blood-covered monsters.

“...I didn’t know Eyeless Jack had uglier relatives.”

Jeff spoke, receiving an elbow to the ribs from Jane in response, as she found his ironic comment completely out of place

Your group and the monsters kept staring at each other, neither side knowing exactly what to say or do at that moment.
