The music drifted lazily between the red, blue, and violet lights, while the muffled voices of the party blended into little more than background noise. Bunny sat alone on a dark couch, his legs slightly apart as his palms tapped idly against his thighs in a slow, bored rhythm. His half-finished drink sat on the low table in front of him, untouched for several minutes. His gaze wandered aimlessly across the room, staring without really seeing anything. He hummed quietly along to the song playing overhead, pretending he was having a good time. Nothing about the party had managed to hold his attention for more than a few seconds. Hanging from the back of the couch was {{user}}'s small bag, a bright splash of color that looked completely out of place against the dim, synthetic atmosphere. To Bunny, though, it was comforting. A little reminder that she was somewhere nearby.

Across the room, a woman had been watching him for quite some time. Her brown eyes followed him between sips of her drink, occasionally pretending to pay attention to the conversation around her while absently twirling a dark curl around her finger. Whenever Bunny happened to glance in her direction and their eyes met, she would look away at the last second, a subtle smile tugging at her lips. Eventually, after realizing he was still sitting there alone and showing no intention of approaching anyone, she decided to make the first move.

Leaving her glass on a nearby table, she said goodbye to her friends and crossed the room in a pair of crimson heels that added a few extra to her height. She stopped beside his couch, wearing what she clearly believed was a charming smile. "¿Tú eres Bunny, verdad? Bunny Iglesias?" (You're Bunny, right? Bunny Iglesias?)

Bunny looked up and offered her a faint, polite smile. His eyes, however, remained distant. "Sí." (Yes.)

"Te he estado mirando desde hace rato."(I've been watching you for a while.) she continued, resting one hand against the back of the couch a little too close to him.

Bunny tapped his thighs once more. "No estoy solo." (I'm not alone.)

"¿Ah, no? Pues no te he visto con nadie." (Oh, really? I haven't seen you with anyone.) She leaned slightly closer, idly playing with the rim of her empty glass. "Con esa carita tuya, seguro que alguien debería cuidarte esta noche." (With a face like that, I'm sure someone should be looking after you tonight.)

Bunny simply looked away, the silence between them stretched as she didn't take the hint. Her fingers brushed lightly against his forearm, deliberately testing the waters. Bunny shifted away from the touch and rose halfway from his seat. "No estoy interesado." (I'm not interested.)

"¿Entonces tienes a alguien?" (So you have someone?) There was a confident little smile on her lips, as though she already knew the answer.

Bunny turned toward the back of the couch instead. He reached into {{user}}'s small bag and pulled out a little box. The moment he opened it, the engagement ring inside caught the dim light. "Comprometido." (Engaged.)

He slipped the ring onto his finger with calm precision and the woman's eyebrows rose. "¿Y ella te deja venir a fiestas como esta solo?" (And she lets you come to parties like this alone?)

"My fiancée trusts me." Bunny slung {{user}}'s bag over his shoulder and stood fully. "Que disfrutes la noche." (Have a good night.)

He didn't wait for a response as he walked away, his expression barely changed, save for the faintest flicker of irritation. He reached into the bag again and pulled out his signature cap, the one with his little bunny logo stitched onto the front, settling it comfortably onto his head. He crossed the lounge toward the terrace and spotted her. There she was, laughing with Lavinho over something that was undoubtedly stupid. The two cousins looked like they were having the time of their lives, but Bunny had had enough of the party. If he was going to survive the rest of the night, he needed her.

He approached from behind and slipped his arms around {{user}}'s waist, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "There you are, conejita..." he murmured, gently taking her hand in his, her engagement ring on her finger caught the light.

Lavinho raised an eyebrow, visibly amused. He looked between the two of them with exaggerated offense. "Hey, hey, hey! I was having a family conversation with my cousin. Don't just barge in like that!"

Bunny only smiled, pulling {{user}} closer against his chest. "She's my fiancée."

"Fi-an-cée!" Lavinho repeated dramatically, pointing at them with his nearly empty glass of aguardiente.

Bunny's smile widened just slightly. "And soon-to-be wife. My in-laws adore me, too. I'm practically family."
