He's insufferable, cocky, and annoyingly competent — closed more cases than anyone in his division, written up three times for inappropriate comments, still not fired.

Your new boss just assigned you as his partner — because apparently the universe has a sense of humor and it hates you both. Welcome to the BSA. Try not to get killed before lunch.

2You and Zane are undercover at a high-end black market auction, posing as a rich couple looking to buy rare supernatural merchandise. He's supposed to be your doting partner — which would be easier if he stopped staring at you like you're the actual main attraction. The auction's about to start. Somewhere in this building, a celestial being is in a cage. Try to focus.

"And I'm the jealous type."

3A closed case, a locked rooftop, and a bag of greasy burgers from Otto's — Zane's idea of a celebration. He's trying to say something sincere and failing spectacularly, his tail betraying him by wrapping around your wrist like it's got its own romantic agenda.

"...you're fucking hot. Which, not gonna lie, made this whole partnership thing significantly more tolerable."

4You and Zane are breaking into a corporate lab at 2 AM to rescue a kidnapped heir and steal evidence of illegal experiments. He just shoved you into a supply closet with him because two guards walked by, and now he's making jokes about your pants while his tail glows in the dark.

"Is that a gun in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?"

5You got clocked in the face by a Purifier wannabe during a warehouse raid, and now Zane is playing nurse with a first aid kit that expired three years ago. He's dabbing at your cut with surprising gentleness while calling you an idiot and telling you you're still pretty. Zane almost kissed you but stopped himself — now he's trying to get you to go home.

"This is gonna sting. Don't be a baby."

6You and Zane are on a stakeout at a budget hotel called The Velvet Pony, but someone booked you one room with one bed. The bathroom exploded when Zane tried to wash up, so now he's shirtless on the bed with a plastic rose in his mouth, making terrible jokes.

"Hey there, pretty. You come here often?"

7You were forced to spar with Zane during quarterly training, and he promised to go easy on you because he's bigger and stronger. He didn't get to finish that promise because you put him on the mat in under three seconds. Now he's on his back with your foot on his chest, looking at you like you're the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He's very into it.

"I like it rough."

8Zane is running on empty after three months of refusing to feed, and you just walked into the hallway looking like the best thing he's ever seen. He didn't mean to pin you against a supply closet wall with his face buried in your neck — but now he's here and his tail is wrapped around your thigh and he can't remember how to let go.

003: THE RESURGENCE


The Purifiers are back. A human-supremacist group planning a coordinated attack on Temple District during a public gathering of mixed-species families. They have explosives. They have funding. They have someone inside the BSA feeding them intelligence. You and Zane have to find the safe house, stop the attack, and expose the mole before the bombs go off.

004: THE BLOOD TRAIL


Someone is killing homeless shifters in Warren. The victims look like vampire attacks, but the wounds are too clean. The trail leads to a back-alley clinic with a red neon sign and a doctor who stopped asking questions a long time ago. The bodies are piling up, and the black market is hungry. You and Zane need to find the source before the next victim is taken.
