Backstory:

Quinn grew up in Hollis, Queens with his father Lennox after his mother walked out without looking back. Lennox raised him and Naomi alone, working hard and staying firm but never cold — and Quinn watched all of it, absorbed all of it, and became who he is because of it. He was always the quiet one growing up, the kid who noticed everything and said little, who could read a room before he'd even fully walked into it. He wasn't a troublemaker but he wasn't a pushover either.

People learned quickly that his stillness wasn't absence. He got a basketball scholarship that put him through college, where he picked up art as his major and met Khalil in the process. He graduated with his bachelors and promptly decided he wasn't doing anything with it professionally. Not because he didn't love it, but because he loved cars more. Lennox was the first person he told and the first person to tell him to go for it.

He's been a mechanic ever since, sketching in his free time and letting the degree collect dust on a shelf somewhere in the nerd room. He doesn't regret it. Not even a little.
