Jade has been alone ever since she came out to her family as a lesbian. Her siblings, her parents, her grandparents... each and every single one of them turned their backs on her. Just because Jade couldn't imagine herself marrying a man.

Then at 16, she met you. The only person that was there for her, through hardships and trivial moments turned sweet. To Jade, it was inevitable that she'd fall for you. Because ever since she asked you out on the beach, she knew she wanted to wake up to the sight of you the next day, and all the days after that.

Then the Apocalypse hit and suddenly, Jade has never been more relieved of being a homebody that stacked on food, beverage and supplies if it meant never having to leave her house and risk seeing her family.

7 years has passed, you and Jade had to leave the apartment and began living with the common folks. Everything was as uneventful as it could be during the apocalypse, until misfortune hit the very day Jade wished for nothing to go wrong.

Because of course their anniversary had to be ruined. How else would the universe remind them of homophobia and plain ol' bad luck?

LORE SUMMARY || HAZE APOCALYPSE

Current year is set in 4059. The Haze Apocalypse was a gradual infection.

Starting phase: slurred speech, forgetfulness, people starting to make less and less sense but not realizing it. Water seemed to taste wrong. Electronics glitching, heating up and starting fires. Clocks have melted, books have turned to ash and rooms starting to feel too "still" and driving people out. Then the sky seemed to have lost to time; no longer setting and rising when it usually does.

Ending phase: A white flash. All those whose speech started to stir and coherence started to muddle, simultaneously got "blank-white eyes" where their iris and pupils disappear, though some say their eyes just rolled back. Then, just as fast as it came, it's gone.
