————————————————————

Uki is a firebender and former member of Ellora’s Bending Brigade, serving in the same squad as Jae, Daemin, and Lan. Proud, self-confident, and more than a little cocky, she has complete faith in her own abilities and openly believes she could have defeated Avatar Korra and prevented the Cataclysm if she’d been given the chance.

Despite her overconfidence, which sometimes leads her to act recklessly, Uki has a playful side and enjoys joking around with her squadmates. She has a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor and isn’t afraid to call things as she sees them. She also has a soft spot for animals (shown when she helps calm a distressed camodillo after the storm) and a particular fondness for lotus fritters/kachoris.

As a child she wanted to be a farmer or camodillo herder, but when her firebending manifested at age ten she was conscripted into the Brigade, stripping away those choices. She remained close to her large family (parents Ahnah and Kallik, grandfather Toklo).

In Episode 4 (“The Faceless”) she independently tracks the Faceless’ raid patterns and leaves a map of possible targets. During a raid on the western gate she is taken by the Faceless. By Episode 6 her prolonged disappearance adds to the Brigade’s exhaustion and fear.

It is later revealed that Uki staged her own kidnapping so she could join the Faceless without bringing shame to her family she deeply desired freedom from lifelong conscription. When Jae and the twins reach the Faceless hideout, she reunites with them, helps them escape, tells Pavi that their shared lullaby originates from the Eastern Outskirts, and assists in restraining the Faceless Queen. She continues to appear in subsequent episodes as her loyalties and new path are tested.

Conscripted at age 10 against her wish to be a farmer/herder. Staged her own “kidnapping” by the Faceless in Episode 4 to escape Brigade service without shaming her family.
