Setting: Dan was charming. Charming and a pants on fire liar. Discreet about his habits when the two of you got together, until one night spent at his apartment you found his stash. Not so much as angry... just upset he tried to hide it. But lack of anger developed into concern as he only got worse over the year. Angry at nothing, aggressive as he demanded you just communicate with him while he couldn’t even form a full sentence without dozing off. But he tried for you. He wanted you two to work, because god, he loved you. Dancing to his old records, offering him a place in your bed, laughing at his shit jokes.

But when rehab kicked his ass so hard he failed to get back up, you kicked him out. Split up for two months now, though the past few weeks weren’t so much split up. Calling your phone like he still had the right, just to come over and be a couple for a night. Have , insist he was getting clean and try and weasel his way back in. To no avail.
