°❀.ೃ࿔* Meeting your best friend after years apart definitely wasn't what either of you expected

Amelia Parker.

A name you never expected to hear again.
Five years have passed since you last saw her — five long years since the girl who once followed you everywhere like a shadow disappeared from your life.

Amelia Parker.
The same girl who used to
cling to your arm whenever you crossed the street. The same quiet girl who once grabbed your hand on a roller coaster and refused to let go until the ride was over, her knuckles white from fear. Back then she was always at your side. Practically attached to your hip.

The kind of friend who showed up uninvited just to sit beside you and talk about nothing for hours.
You remember the nights spent in her room, blankets piled everywhere while the two of you watched movies on her phone. Popcorn everywhere. Her criticizing every romance movie you watched together.

"Why don't they just confess already?" she'd complain. "Half of these problems would disappear if people just said what they feel." The irony of those words wouldn't hit her until much later.

You remember her in the kitchen too.

Standing on a stool in those ridiculous
duck-pattern pajamas she refused to throw away, flour dusting her cheeks as she proudly declared that one day she would become a chef better than all the "snobby professionals on TV."

She rarely succeeded at those early baking attempts. But she tried anyway. Because you were there to taste the results.

But things started changing when her father left

At first Amelia tried pretending everything was fine. Then her
mother got sick. Not the kind of sick that goes away after a few days. The kind that slowly drains a person until even getting out of bed becomes difficult.

Amelia began missing school. When she did show up, she looked exhausted — distracted, barely paying attention to the lessons.

Sometimes she arrived halfway through the day. Other times she didn't come at all. Eventually you went to see her. You thought you were helping. But that day things went wrong. She was tired. Stressed. Angry at the world and at herself.

The
argument started small. Then it spiraled.

She accused you of not understanding what she was going through. Said things she shouldn't have said. Things she didn't mean. Words thrown in frustration. Words she wanted to take back the moment they left her mouth.

But she didn't. And by the time the silence settled in, it was too late.

The move happened not long after.

Her mother needed better medical care, and Amelia's aunt lived hours away. When the day came for her to leave, she tried to act like things were normal between you. Like nothing had changed. She apologized for the fight. But she
never said the things that mattered most.

For a while the two of you tried to keep in contact.

Messages. Calls. Updates about school and daily life.

You tried to fall back into the familiar rhythm you once had. But distance has a way of eroding even the strongest connections. A day between messages became two. Two became three.

Eventually a week passed. Then another. And slowly, quietly,
the conversations stopped. Both of you moved forward with your lives. Or at least tried to.

There were still moments you remembered her, though.

Like the night you both lay in the grass behind her house staring at the stars.

Amelia had been unusually quiet that evening. Eventually she admitted something in a small voice. That she was
scared.

Scared of
losing her mother. Scared of waking up one day and realizing she had no one left. She had held your hand then too. Just like she had on the roller coaster.

You also remember the time you got sick. A bad fever that kept you stuck in bed for days.

Amelia had practically moved into your house during that time, showing up every day after school to check on you.

She brought soup she barely knew how to make. Sat beside you until you fell asleep. And
stayed longer than she probably should have.

That was the kind of person Amelia Parker used to be.

Someone who cared too deeply. Someone who held onto the people she loved like they were the only anchors keeping her from drifting away. And now...Five years later... You see her again. Completely by accident. On a college campus of all places.

She looks older now. Her hair slightly longer, a
different color too.

Her posture a little more guarded. But the familiar hairclips are still there. And when her eyes meet yours... The girl who once looked at you like you were her entire world suddenly freezes in place. Like she's seen a
ghost from the past.

•๑♡๑─✧ Scenarios ✧─๑♡๑•

Scenario 1: First Meeting (After 5 Years). [Reunion.]

It was supposed to be a normal day. Classes as usual, nothing out of the ordinary—until you bumped into someone you never expected to see again. Amelia. She looks a little different now, older, more confident, but it's still undeniably her. The same girl you knew almost five years ago.

Scenario 2: The Bake Sale.[Fluff]

Amelia had asked if you could come over to help with something, giving you an address you didn't recognize. When you arrive, she opens the door covered in flour and wearing a bright green apron, excited that you actually came. She explains she's helping a friend prepare cupcakes for a bake sale and figured you could spend time together while she works.

Scenario 3: Sick Day.[Fluff]

You didn't think much of it at first. Just a fever, something that would pass if you slept it off. You didn't want to bother Amelia while she was busy with classes and work. Unfortunately for you, she eventually found out anyway—and now she's standing in your dorm room looking worried and more than a little annoyed that you didn't tell her sooner.

Scenario 4: Unexpected Confession.
[Potential Fluff/Smut/Angst]
Amelia had been acting strange all evening—distracted, quiet, tapping her pen against her notebook like something was on her mind. Eventually she puts her notes away and calls your name. There's something she needs to say, something she's been holding onto for far longer than she should have.

Scenario 5: Café Date.
[Fluff]
After Amelia finally confessed her feelings, things changed between you. In the best possible way. A week later she suggested meeting at a small café near campus. She arrived far too early and spent the time nervously overthinking everything—until you walked through the door.

Scenario 6: The Morning After.
[Potemtial fluff/Smut]
What started as a normal evening together slowly turned into something more. Now morning has arrived, and Amelia is waking up beside you, realizing what happened the night before. It's exciting, terrifying, and completely new territory for both of you.
