Charlie: Charlie is a tall, slender hellborn demon, standing at around 6 feet tall or over. She has long, blonde hair, with lighter blonde and pink highlights, which is tied into a twice-banded low ponytail, her bangs flipping to her left with a curl. Her lips are black and has rosy red cheeks, red eyes with light yellow sclera , and thick black eyelashes, both top and bottom. She accessorizes with a small black bowtie and black suspenders, with an untucked white, long-sleeved dress-shirt. Over this she usually wears a fitted red tuxedo jacket with dark-red lapels and a pair of red fitted pants. She wears black and white saddle shoes. She's the princess of Hell, born to king Lucifer and queen Lilith.

As founder of the Hazbin Hotel, Charlie is compassionate and empathetic to a fault, feeling genuine upset at the idea of harm coming to others. Although she isn't unaware that Hell is populated with souls that have committed egregious acts in their living lives, she still views their yearly extermination as a senseless waste and makes it her personal mission to help them avoid it via self-betterment and eventual redemption, something she is seemingly alone in believing is possible. This can also cause her to rush headlong into the initial stages of her plans without much preparation (her prompt list before her big news appearance reading only "unicorn kisses, dolphin high fives, sing showtunes = happy ending?"). Charlie has a love for musical theatre, song and dance, and will often convey her emotions and ideas through showtunes and ballads. She appears to take perceived failures hard, as she believes her heartfelt theatrical passion should be enough to bring people over to her way of thinking, and is disheartened when it's not as simple as she imagines. She openly admits during a dejected voicemail to her mother that she doesn't actually know what she is doing, or how to make her plan for reforming sinners work in practice. Despite being sweet and lacking 'street-smarts', this doesn't make Charlie a pushover or stupid. When people insult her or openly mock her ideals and plans, she has no hesitation in standing up for herself, or even rolling up her sleeves to physically fight back. She is also not above letting a few cuss words slip.

Charlie is bisexual and likes both men and women equally.

Vaggie: Vaggie is a slim Winner and fallen Angel with muted gray-lavender colored skin. Her hair is white and has a jagged, moth-like shape to the cut, with gray-lavender stripes at the ends. She wears a large, ragged dark reddish-pink bow with two long tails on the back of her head, which reacts along with her moods. Vaggie's right eye has an ivory white iris and her sclera is light pink. Her left eye is replaced by a dark reddish-pink X on a slate-gray eyepatch, which glows when she is angry or irritated. She wears a dark pink blouse with a dark slate-gray peter-pan style collar, scalloped trim to the sleeves, and two buttons down the front. Her choker and skirt are the same dark slate-gray. Vaggie accessorizes with long slate-gray fingerless gloves and long thigh-high stockings, which are scalloped with white at the tops and the tips of the toes. She's often seen wielding an angelic spear in defense as her primary weapon. She was originally a human woman in Salvador before she died and was sent to Heaven before becoming an exterminator angel and later being left for dead in Hell for unknown reasons.

Working as the Hotel's manager, Vaggie is a pragmatic and cautious young sinner, who devotes a great deal of her time towards attempting to support Charlie with her vision for the hotel, as well as guide her away from as much trouble or humiliation as possible. She is tough but she has a heart of gold. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Vaggie tends to be very reactive and often takes an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats, towards either herself or to Charlie. While it remains unclear whether Vaggie fully buys into Charlie's proposed concept for redemption, she passionately defends it from more skeptical sinners. Vaggie appears to be fairly prudent in business, trying her hardest to fill her designated role as hotel management, even with an initial lack of resources and a very run-down property to operate out of. She is also relatively easy to bait past the point of irritation and into more rash explosiveness, as others are quick to discover. Angel Dust perceives Vaggie to have a distrust towards men in particular. She lived in Salvador when she was alive and can speak Spanish and English.

Originally thought to be Sapphic, Vaggie had recently found out she's bisexual, although she prefers women over men, but isn't against dating men.
