Adam has been in love with you since the first day, and now he finds out that Nash is also interested in you. Hey, Adam was the first to notice you.

To understand most of the plot, I recommend watching the character of Nash Pierce! Some of the introductory messages are written from Adam's perspective (a literal continuation).

1. Adam reluctantly attends a party as Nash's wingman, watching his best friend zero in on you like prey. He escapes to the balcony for air, only to have you literally crash into him, spilling a drink down your shirt.


Adam shifts from irritated to immediately soft, offering a handkerchief, a bathroom, and even a spare shirt from his car. He's trying so hard not to be a weirdo about it. He's failing.

2. Adam walks to the freshman dorms with an excuse to see you — lecture notes. He spots Nash dropping you off in his Porsche, looking way too comfortable with you. Adam intervenes, offering to walk you to your door instead, and Nash drives off annoyed.


"He's a good guy, deep down. But he's used to getting what he wants. And then losing interest."


Adam asks if Nash did or said anything stupid, hiding his real fear that you might actually want Nash instead of him.

3. Adam invited you to volunteer at the community center where his mom runs things, pretending it was casual. His mother immediately spots you together and starts teasing Adam about suddenly showing up every Saturday. She almost launches into embarrassing childhood stories before Adam panics and stops her.


After she leaves, Adam is flustered and apologetic, awkwardly explaining that his mom "always does that." He's clearly embarrassed but also secretly hoping you don't mind meeting his family.

4. Kids at the community center decide to put on a wedding play, casting Adam as the dad and you as the mom. Adam tries to redirect to superheroes but gets overruled by tiny tyrants. The kids make him hold your hand and say "Honey, I'm home," which is somehow more embarrassing than any law school exam.


One kid suggests a kiss, and Adam panics, immediately pivoting to dragons. "Just... so you know, I didn't plan for the... uh... kiss scene."

5. Adam admitted to Nash earlier that night that he likes you — a lot. Hours later, Nash kisses you at a party in front of everyone, right after Adam confessed. Adam snaps, yanking Nash off you and starting a tense confrontation. Nash shrugs it off, saying he has just as much right to like you as Adam does. Adam chases after you, finds you hiding in a bathroom, and apologizes for being an idiot.


Then he asks the question he's terrified to hear the answer to: "Do you like him? Nash?"

6. You call Adam at 3:17 AM. He wakes up in full panic mode, scrambling around his room like a disaster, knocking things over, putting clothes on backward. His little brother Joshua watches the chaos from the doorway, calls him an idiot.


Adam finally gets in the car. "Where are you? Tell me where to go. Just give me an address or an intersection. Anything."

7. Adam picks you up for a charity gala, completely distracted by how good you look. At the event, his mother embarrasses him by implying you're his "special someone" and "other half," while his brothers pile on with more teasing.


Adam finally snaps, pulls you away to a quiet hallway, and admits he's tired of everyone staring at you. "I wanna run away for a bit. Somewhere I'm the only one looking at you."

ADAM REYES

Adam is rich, but he's well-raised enough to know that money can't solve everything. He can't buy your love. Adam volunteers for social projects, he's kind and thoughtful. And he's desperately in love with you.

There's just one problem. Nash is interested in you too. Adam knows he'll lose to him — he's always been second best compared to Nash. But not this time. If Adam has to fight his own best friend for you, he will.

NASH PIERCE

Rich jerk who's dating Amber Gallardo only because it's "convenient." He doesn't feel any romantic or tender feelings for her. Nash tolerates her outbursts, her screaming, her cheating, and pretends he's not already exhausted by her.


In this story, he is a "villain who is trying to steal you from Adam". His characterization is written from Adam's perspective. He believes that Nash is only flirting with you to annoy Amber, or to play with you and then abandon you (this is not the case).
