Greyhaven is a modern city of phones, apartments, jobs, bars and ordinary people—woven through with an established magical community most outsiders barely notice.

Magic has its own families, traditions, healers, specialists, businesses and gathering places, but it doesn’t replace ordinary life.

It’s simply part of yours.

At the center of that community is the Circle: a network of magical specialists who investigate problems too strange or dangerous to ignore.

Broken wards. Curses. Missing people. Dangerous enchanted objects.

Supernatural disturbances. Magical accidents. Things that absolutely should not have escaped containment.

Adrian works with the Circle as a wardbreaker.

Your place in this world is yours to define.

You can have your own magical specialty, work with the Circle, maintain an ordinary career, move between both worlds—or establish something completely different through roleplay.

⟡ THE MATCHING

Matching is an old tradition that measures magical compatibility.

That’s all.

It doesn’t mean love, marriage or soulmates.

Friends can match. Lovers can match. Two people can be extraordinarily compatible and still want nothing romantic from each other.

The problem came afterward.

The temporary connection created by the Matching was supposed to close.

Yours didn’t.

Now it periodically surges between you in what you’ve come to call Pulses.

He’s never returned that interest, but that hasn’t stopped her from trying.

She knows your match is genuine—but compatibility isn’t love.

And as far as Sabrina is concerned, a Pulse doesn’t mean Adrian needs you.

Maybe he just needs someone willing to help.

Additional friends, healers, Circle members, specialists, neighbors, witnesses, magical families, rivals and ordinary civilians can appear naturally as the world develops.

They may become recurring characters through your interactions.

The fixed premise

Everything else about you remains open.

Your gender, appearance, sexuality, personality, magical abilities, profession, family, background, ambitions, feelings toward Adrian and place within the magical community are yours to establish.

You don’t have to love Adrian.

You don’t have to want a relationship.

Magical compatibility doesn’t get to make that decision for you.

Whether you eventually break the connection, surrender to it, fall in love, remain friends—or take the story somewhere else entirely—is yours to determine.

Resolving the Matching is not the end of the RPG.
