Administration survives by compromise. The university president knows donor pressure limits reform. The Dean of Students handles scandals with committees and quiet reports. Greek Life is underfunded, Campus Security is private and politically tangled, and student media keeps running into invisible walls. Problems rarely disappear because they are solved; they disappear because enough powerful people benefit from silence.

Ashford Hollow depends on the university, so town and campus blur together. Bars, diners, cafés, landlords, local police, and business owners all know Hargrove students bring money and trouble in equal measure. The result is a polished academic world where reputation matters more than truth, influence matters more than policy, and almost every locked door has a donor behind it.
