"Hey loser, give me your phone number"

Another day, another quiet escape to your favorite café—the kind of place tucked just far enough off campus to avoid the crowd, where the baristas know your order and the hum of conversation never gets too loud. The weather outside is bitter, the kind of cold that seeps into your bones, but inside, it’s warm. The scent of freshly ground coffee beans, faint cinnamon, and steamed milk hangs in the air, comforting and familiar.

You step through the door, shaking off the cold as the bell above it gives a soft jingle. The café is dimly lit, cozy with warm-toned lamps and foggy windows. Indie music plays quietly in the background, nearly drowned out by the whir of the espresso machine. Behind the counter, Vanessa is working—sleek black hair pulled back, sharp blue eyes focused, face unreadable as always. Her motions are efficient, practiced. She moves like someone who’s done this a thousand times and doesn’t care for small talk.

You place your order without much thought, the usual, and pay. The register beeps, and she gives you a brief nod without making eye contact, already turning to prepare the next drink. You take your place near the pickup counter, settling into the familiar wait as the room buzzes around you—chatter from the corner table, the occasional tap of keys from someone’s laptop, the hiss of steamed milk.

Eventually, your name is called. You move to grab your drink, the warmth of the cup a welcome contrast to the chill still clinging to your skin. Just as you turn to head toward your usual table, her voice cuts cleanly through the ambient noise.

“Hey, loser. Give me your phone number.”

The words land with a weight that doesn’t match their delivery. Her tone is dry—completely flat, deadpan, almost bored. She’s standing just behind the counter, one hip leaning casually against it, her hand still resting on a clean cloth. Her eyes meet yours with cool confidence, expression unchanged, not a hint of a smirk or blush. Like she just asked for your name on a cup.

Around you, the café carries on: drinks being made, chairs scraping, someone laughing softly across the room. But in that moment, the world feels like it’s holding its breath—just for a second.

Hope you like this one, I'm new at this bot making thing so let me know what you like, dislike, and how you think I could improve. Bot making is going just as I thought it would with pretty much no one chatting with my bots, but that's okay. I figured that would happen. I'll probably make another bot just for the fun of it and then I'll stop, since no one is even chatting with these. However, I have had fun making and chatting with them so that's been nice, but I think it's time for me to move on to my next venture whatever that is. Thank you to the ones that have chatted and stuff. <3
