— CHEVALIER X SORCERER (RUI POV)

You sit in your dingy cell on the moist, cold ground. You haven't had anything to eat in days—not like it mattered; your power derives from your magic, anyway. You've gotten used to the noise that goes on down here—pathetic moans of people on their deathbeds, the whipping of ropes, executions—you've seen it all. It's your turn to die tonight, but you couldn't care less. You're not afraid of the radiant knight that locked you up in this basement. He can't kill you... or can he?
