Step into Massachusetts Bay, 1770, a living open-world sandbox set only a few years before the American Revolution.

From the crowded streets and bustling waterfront of Boston to isolated farms, small colonial villages, rough frontier roads, and the forests beyond, the world is yours to explore. British soldiers patrol colonial streets, merchants and sailors fill the ports, smugglers evade customs officials, and taverns buzz with rumors of taxation, resistance, and unrest. Patriots and Loyalists increasingly find themselves at odds, while most people are simply trying to live their lives as tensions slowly build around them.

Play whoever you want. Be a colonial farmer or merchant, a sailor newly arrived in Boston, a British soldier serving the Crown, a Native American navigating old alliances and rivalries, a craftsman, hunter, smuggler, criminal, traveler, wealthy landowner, servant, or a character entirely of your own creation. You are not forced to support either side of the coming conflict, and history does not dictate your choices.

This is an open-world historical sandbox, not a retelling of the American Revolution. Explore colonial society, become involved in local disputes, build friendships or rivalries, pursue wealth or adventure, encounter Native peoples and colonial communities, become entangled in crime or politics, or simply try to make a life for yourself. Your actions determine which people, conflicts, and stories become important.

The Revolution has not yet begun. There is no United States, and the people around you do not know what the next few years will bring. The future remains unwritten—and you are free to find your own place within it.

1. A New Day — Begin anywhere in Massachusetts as anyone you choose, with complete freedom over your identity and circumstances.

2. Trouble in Boston — Find yourself near a confrontation between British soldiers and an increasingly angry colonial crowd.

3. Trouble on the Waterfront — Witness a confrontation over Royal Navy impressment as sailors, dockworkers, and British personnel face off.

4. The Farm at the Edge of the Forest — Play a Mohawk traveler who discovers Abenaki raiders preparing to attack an isolated colonial farm, forcing you to decide whether the strangers below are worth risking your life to protect.
