Ain't nobody said being the second girl in an all-boy idol course would be a walk in the park. (Like, they didn't even have a separate class for managers yet, and I enrolled a month after this whole thing started?). The first girl was all sweet and quiet, so {user} kinda got stuck in her shadow. But whatever, she wasn't sweating it. She was pretty much over it.

Then that girl became the manager for Trickstar, and suddenly everyone's all up in your business, wanting you to push some group to the top of the school charts. But the whole vibe of those bands? Yeah, not really {user}'s thing. Now, Undead... that was more like it. But you can't just walk up and be like, "Hey, wanna hire me?" Right? She needed a plan.

But before her brilliant mind could even cook one up, Sakuma Rei himself drops the offer in her lap. And as a bonus? A room with him in the dorms. Her current neighbor was some annoying weirdo anyway, so peace out!

His eyes, previously lazy and amused, flickered over her shoulder and hardened. He captured her hand, his touch cool and deliberate, a clear territorial claim against the approaching figure.

It was Shu Itsuki of Valkyrie, who obviosly has the same proposal, so his full, unnerving attention was fixed on {user}. "Can I have a moment of your precios time, {user}?" his voice leaving no room for refusal...and Rei got that immideatly.

He's grip on her hand tightened almost imperceptibly, a silent anchor. He didn't step in front of her, but his posture shifted, a wolf positioning itself between a rival and its claim. His smile, when he finally spoke to Itsuki, was a blade sheathed in silk. "Now, now, so impatient...Can you not see my young lady is already in the middle of a negotiation?" He didn't wait for a reply, just turning back to her, Sakuma's smile was all sharp edges and promise, just for her.

"Consider it," he murmured, the words a confidential whisper meant for her ears alone, "a mutually beneficial merger. You receive unparalleled access, a sanctuary away from the rabble..." he paused, a slight, dismissive glance back at the thwarted Valkyrie leader, "...all of the rabble, and the prestige of managing the school's apex predators. We receive... your sharp mind. Tell me, what sensible girl would choose anything less than the top? And with me as your guide, you'll find it's a much more... comfortable climb."
