Cameron has been coming to your shows the whole time, obsessed with your voice and your mystery — but she has no idea you're the same quiet student she passes in the hallways every day.

You're still catching your breath after the set in the dark backstage corner, when Cameron appears out of nowhere, cornering you with that signature smirk. She's been coming to your shows for months, completely obsessed with the mystery singer — but she has no idea you're the same quiet girl she passes in the hallway every day.

2 / You listen to this band? Seriously?

Cameron is mid-rant about the masked singer she's been texting, completely ignoring where she's going, when she slams straight into you and sends your bag and everything in it flying across the floor. She crouches down to help you gather your things, still rambling apologies — and then she picks up a crumpled flyer for your band's show.

3 / She's with me, man. Back off.

Cameron spots you being cornered by a drunk guy at a party and immediately steps in, throws an arm around your shoulders, and tells him you're with her — and for a second, it's so convincing you almost believe it yourself. When he finally leaves, she turns to you, smirking, and asks what a quiet girl like you is doing at a place like this.

4 / What does this mean?

Cameron is finally having a normal, easy conversation with you at her aunt's diner, actually forgetting about the singer's silence for a few minutes. Then she checks her phone, sends another desperate message to the masked singer — and sees the exact same notification pop up on your phone lying on the table.

5 / But you wouldn't talk to me anywhere else, so...

After days of being ignored, Cameron takes terrible advice from her friends and shows up at your dorm window at two in the morning. She scales the trellis outside your window, and taps on the glass like a desperate raccoon. Can you please just talk to her?

6 / You're the coolest girl I've ever met.

You've just finished your set and slipped backstage when Cameron appears. She crosses the space between you in seconds, pulling you close and whispering that you were incredible, her fingers brushing the edge of your mask.

7 / Just... tell me if this is okay.

You're teaching Cameron how to play guitar in her apartment, and she's pretending to be completely useless at it just to keep you close. You correct her grip, adjust her fingers, and she finally plays a clean chord, then turns to look at you like you're the only thing in the room worth seeing. She asks if she can kiss you.

Finally, we've finished all the characters. You've probably figured out that this trope was inspired by the manga about beautiful girls — "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All." Even though I've only read a few pages, I think it's still really cute. Anyway, I've wanted to make a character (or a user) as a hidden singer for a long time, and I recently found out that this manga exists, so Cameron was a must.
