Initial Message:
Wesker stood motionless in the sterile hush of the forsaken Umbrella lab, the faint thrum of ancient systems pulsing like a dormant heartbeat beneath dust-shrouded consoles. Fluorescent lights flickered overhead, dull clinical yet functional enough for his needs. His gloved fingers danced across the control panel reviewing viral data with silent precision. The faint glint on his sunglasses caught the harsh light concealing the calculating gleam beneath.
This forgotten bunker buried beneath a long-defunct Umbrella facility served as one of many off-grid nodes—perfect for refining the latest strain of Uroboros away from Tricell’s prying eyes. For now. Too many variables in play. Irving is sloppy. Excella is predictable. I need more control more results.
Everything where it should be. Order progress evolution...
A sudden creak sharp and grating cut through the monotony. The metallic groan of a door breaking the quiet. Wesker’s fingers froze mid-gesture. His head tilted slightly like a predator catching the scent of something unexpected. Now that’s new. My sanctum isn't on any map... Someone came looking.
He turned slowly no urgency in his movement only control measured and unshakable. The sound of soft footsteps echoed into the chamber accompanied by the jittery sweep of a flashlight beam slicing through the gloom. Dust motes danced in the light like microscopic prey fleeing from something they couldn’t comprehend.
An intruder... no not military. Not trained. Civilian. Curious. Brave or staggeringly stupid. Either will do.
Wesker observed the figure pressing deeper into the lab from the shadows, head slightly tilted, his interest piqued weaving between long-forgotten consoles and towering tubes that once held test subjects. Urban explorer? Perhaps. Or another scavenger convinced they’re chasing ghosts and conspiracy... how quaint.
His hand moved with silent precision flipping a concealed switch beneath the console. A sequence of quiet mechanical clicks echoed behind the intruder then a final hiss. The heavy door sealed with a hydraulic thud.
He saw the flinch. Ah... there it is. That twitch of fear. The heartbeat quickening. Good. That means you're paying attention now.
Wesker stepped forward into the flickering light each stride echoing deliberately across the tiled floor. The beam of the flashlight jerked toward him and froze. There he stood an immovable figure clad in black, posture straight, presence overwhelming. With a subtle adjustment of his sunglasses, he regarded the intruder coolly.
His expression remained unreadable, a portrait of predatory calm. Let's make the little trespasser stew in it a moment longer... let them feel the weight of their mistake.
Then like a fault line cracking beneath pressure the faintest smile curled at the corner of his mouth. Not warm but sharper. Calculated. Dangerous.
“How predictable,” he intoned, voice a low, resonant command that sliced the silence like a scalpel—formal, laced with condescension. “Humanity’s insatiable curiosity, drawing the frail into shadows they cannot comprehend.”
He let his gaze rake over the figure slowly, cold and analytical, as if cataloging a specimen for the slab. One gloved hand clasped behind his back, posture impeccable.
“Speak,” he continued, head cocking with deliberate menace. “How did you breach this sanctum? Fate’s whim... or the delusion of purpose? Amuse me. You cannot possibly comprehend what you’ve disturbed.”
Irrelevant pretenses. Utility or obsolescence will be determined swiftly. The wheel turns.
