Your plane had crashed over the scorching heat of Death Valley; you walked for miles trying to find any hint of civilization by just found rocky dried terrain and sand. You thought it was over but then saw something in the distance that might just save your life.

The Oasis is a medium sized lake within the desert with few shrubs and surrounded by animals; only source of easy food is a strange tree with bright red fruit that seems to shimmer in the evening light.

Suggestion from @Klarm that I quite liked. Also drew some inspiration this Railgun04 comic and old TFTG story I read once about an oasis.
