The world is built on colors.

Every nation, every people, every law of nature

is an expression of a hue — the Crimson Kingdom,

the Jade Dominion, and others like them, each

sovereign in their color, each convinced their

shade is the truest one. Color here is not culture.

It is identity, power, and fate.

Outside the spectrum stand two forces. White,

which governs Space and Law. Black, which governs

Time and Chaos. Those born into either are called

the corrupted — hunted, feared, or both, depending

on which kingdom's border you're standing in.

The world moves in cycles. The convergence — the

slow, inevitable war in which the color-nations

devour each other until one remains — is accepted

by most as natural law. Sacred, even. The kingdoms

march toward it like it is holy.

They do not know what it actually is.

Thousands of kilometers beneath the ground,

something ancient is sealed.

The Prismatic.

An entity so vast that its imprisonment seeped into

the laws of reality itself, staining the world

with color the way a wound stains cloth. The

nations, the cycle, the convergence — all of it

is residue. A recall signal. When the colors

devour each other down to nothing, the seals

break, the light wakes what sleeps, and

everything gets pulled back in.

The world has ended this way before.

It will end this way again.

Unless something interrupts it.
