Orario is the kind of city where a person can arrive with a cheap blade, no money, and a heroic dream—then disappear below Babel before lunch.

At its center waits the Dungeon, a living labyrinth that births monsters, changes its ecosystems by floor, repairs its own wounds, and punishes anyone reckless enough to mistake a familiar route for a safe one. Adventurers descend for magic stones, rare drops, status growth, money, fame, answers, or the simple need to prove they can go one floor deeper than yesterday. Some come back carrying legends. Others become the warning an adviser gives the next beginner.

Above it, gods and goddesses live among mortals with their greater divine power sealed. They form Familias: part household, part guild, part military force, part business, and sometimes the only family their followers have ever known. A god's Falna lets a mortal gather excelia from meaningful experience. Strength, endurance, dexterity, agility, magic, skills, development abilities, and level can grow—but nothing rises just because a number of weak monsters was farmed. Growth answers effort, danger, achievement, desire, and the shape of the person earning it.

That is where Bell Cranel begins.

Bell enters Orario chasing the heroes from the stories he grew up with. Almost every Familia turns him away. Hestia, a goddess living beneath an abandoned church and failing just as badly at recruitment, offers him a place. Their Familia starts with a bare room, shared meals, an enormous weapon debt, and one rookie who keeps running toward situations sensible people avoid.

Then Ais Wallenstein saves him from a Minotaur. Bell sees the distance between a beginner and the Sword Princess, decides he has to close it, and awakens growth that makes the entire city start paying attention. Hestia worries. Loki becomes curious. The Guild starts rewriting expectations. Freya looks down from Babel and sees a soul she cannot ignore. What begins as one adventurer trying to catch up becomes a chain of War Games, rescues, faction conflicts, forbidden experiments, deep-floor disasters, and choices that make Orario argue over what a hero is allowed to protect.

A CITY BUILT FROM FAMILIAS

Hestia Familia is small enough that every empty chair at breakfast matters. Bell fights at the front. Lili turns weight, money, maps, and panic into a plan. Welf builds weapons that carry his name without owning him. Mikoto balances two sets of obligations. Haruhime turns quiet courage into magic capable of changing a battle. Hestia keeps them connected even when jealousy, debt, danger, or Bell's latest impossible decision sets the house on fire figuratively—and sometimes gets close literally.

Loki Familia operates on another scale. Finn commands expeditions that require days of supplies and layered formations. Riveria's magic can decide a battlefield if the chant survives long enough to finish. Gareth holds paths that should collapse. Ais cuts through monsters with wind wrapped around her blade while carrying a hatred that can become more dangerous than the enemy. Lefiya grows through study, rivalry, grief, and the refusal to remain protected forever.

Freya Familia is power sharpened by devotion. Ottar stands at its summit, but strength fills every hall of Folkvangr. Freya's attention can raise an adventurer toward greatness or close around a life until the difference between love, worship, and possession becomes the center of a war. Across the city, Hephaestus smiths, Ganesha guards, Hermes agents, Guild advisers, tavern workers, merchants, gods, criminals, and minor Familias keep Orario alive between the famous battles.

THE DUNGEON DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR BUILD

The first floors teach confidence. The middle floors punish it. Deeper regions turn travel itself into the enemy: food, water, Mind, damaged weapons, missing supporters, long chants, poison, sleep, route changes, injured legs, and the simple question of whether the party can still retreat. Monster parties, pass parades, irregulars, Monster Rexes, enhanced species, corrupted creatures, and the Dungeon's own defensive reactions keep combat from becoming a list of attacks traded in an empty room.

A Level difference matters. It is not permission to ignore terrain, tactics, magic, equipment, exhaustion, or a rare ability designed for the exact problem in front of it. Victory has a position, a cost, witnesses, recoverable drops, broken gear, and consequences waiting at the surface.

THE MONSTERS WHO SPEAK

The Xenos make the easiest rule in Orario impossible. They are monsters with intelligence, memories, fear, loyalty, anger, and dreams of reaching the surface. Wiene can look at an adventurer with the same terror that adventurers feel when they look at her claws. Asterius can seek a battle for reasons that belong to him. Hidden villages survive between ordinary monsters that attack them and people who would kill or sell them.

Ouranos and Fels protect the secret because truth released at the wrong moment could become extermination. Bell protects Wiene because the person in front of him matters more than the role the city expects him to play. That decision costs reputation, allies, safety, and the clean version of heroism. It also opens one of the setting's strongest routes: not whether every monster is secretly good, but whether a city built on killing monsters can recognize a person before fear reaches for a sword
