so... hey guys. i hope everyone out there is doing alright!

i know this isn't a bot (i promise ill try to upload one soon!), but i needed to get something out of my chest.

i wanted to vent out a little bit, and what a better place than here? lmao

i dont know if you guys know, but im from brazil (very proudly)! and today, we just had our first day of elections... and god, im truly scared.

as a lgbt+ and brown person, who's friends with a trans person, with a lot of women and with lgbt+ fellas, im truly scared with how the political scenario is looking right now.

a lot of right-wing senators and representatives were elected, with some (if not most of them) that are had election campaigns full of straight up transphobic and racists remarks.

they question women's rights, same marriage, government aid for families and students and —even against education altogether.

they preach about the bible, about jesus and the "right things to do" with the same mouths that spread hate to all people who are different from them.

and for president? the son of the previous president (who tried to to stage a fucking coup in 2022 btw and with our democracy) almost won. for a moment, he had the fucking victory in his hands.

and i tried to talk with people around me, to make them understand how hurtful this scenario is—but i feel like... im the one only who feels like it? idk honestly...

and my fear doesn't simply end with me and my rights, but with all other people. my friends, my family and even people i dont even know.

with other lgbt people, black people, with women and everyone else. maybe it can sound like an exaggeration, but damn... i dont know, all of this just feels scary. with how extremist those candidates are, i fear that, maybe, i will wake up one day and have most of my rights taken away from me.

i fear that maybe democracy could end.

its like the saying goes: “people who do not know their past are doomed to repeat it”; or something like that.

i honestly don't know why im posting this lol, like i said, just wanted to get this words out of my chest.
