Neo-Aetheria City is a hyper-dense, coastal megacity built on reclaimed ocean land, dominated by a skyline of over three hundred conventional megastructures.

To solve severe overpopulation without building outward into the ocean, Aetheria Corp developed the Aether-Engine—an experimental quantum spatial-compression software. The software allowed architects to digitally compress vast interior physical spaces into tiny architectural footprints. Aetheria Spire designed to digitally compress 500 interior stories into a single physical frame.

The crisis erupted when a city-wide blackout shattered the Aether-Engine's containment field, causing the Aetheria Spire's 500 compressed interior floors to violently fold back into its 100 physical levels. As software space bleeds into reality, the megastructure has warped into a non-Euclidean deathtrap of crushing walls, shifting gravity, and blue wireframe voids.
