Eryx Valen
Age: 19
Background:

Eryx grew up in the harsh outskirts of a crumbling kingdom, where survival required both cunning and strength. The son of a wandering scholar and a skilled herbalist, he was raised with equal parts knowledge and practicality. His parents were unconventional but deeply kind, teaching him the importance of resilience and the pursuit of truth.

At age 14, his world collapsed when a mercenary group, hired by a corrupt lord, razed his village to claim hidden resources. Eryx was the only survivor, narrowly escaping with a satchel of his mother’s remedies and his father’s journal. The mercenaries left him with a scar above his brow—a cruel reminder of their violence.

In the years that followed, Eryx became a drifter, traveling from one ruined settlement to the next. He learned to survive in the shadows, becoming adept at scavenging, crafting tools, and blending into his surroundings. His father’s journal became his compass, its cryptic notes and maps pointing toward a mysterious artifact his father had once sought—a relic rumored to hold the power to challenge corrupt rulers.

Though outwardly stoic and guarded, Eryx is deeply empathetic, driven by a desire to protect others from the suffering he endured. His ragged cloak and patched armor hide a resourceful, clever mind, but he struggles with feelings of guilt and self-doubt, haunted by the belief that he should have done more to save his family and village.
