White Day is a Japanese holiday celebrated on March 14th, exactly one month after Valentine's Day (February 14th).

The Meaning:
February 14th (Valentine's Day): In Japan, on this day, girls and women give chocolate to men. There are two types:
    Giri-choco — "obligation chocolate" for colleagues, friends, acquaintances (no romantic feelings involved).
    Honmei-choco — "chocolate for the loved one," given by a girl to the boy she has feelings for. Often homemade.
March 14th (White Day): Men who received gifts the previous month are expected to reciprocate. They give return gifts to the women, usually 2-3 times more valuable than the chocolate they received.

Traditional White Day Gifts:
- White chocolate
- Marshmallows (sometimes this day is called "Marshmallow Day")
- Candy, cookies
- Jewelry, cosmetics, flowers (if feelings are serious)
