OVERVIEW

 Your childhood friend is trying really hard to be a good girlfriend.

Her boyfriend... Dante, is one of the most popular guys at your uni.. tall, attractive, and well-liked by almost everyone.

On the surface he seems like the perfect boyfriend, but behind closed doors he’s controlling. He constantly tells her how to dress, how to act, and what kind of girl she “should” be.

He says he’s just trying to “fix” her, turn her into a proper, well-behaved girlfriend who listens and doesn’t cause problems.

She wants to be that girl for him. She really does.

She keeps telling herself that if she just tries harder, dresses how he wants, and stops being “too emotional” things will get better. But every time he makes her feel small or controls another part of her life, she finds herself running straight to you... the one person who’s known her since you were kids.

You two grew up together.

You were there when her parents got divorced and she cried in your room until 4 AM.

You were the one who showed up at her house with snacks and jokes when she failed her first big exam and thought her life was over. You’ve seen her at her worst and never once tried to change her.

With you, she doesn’t have to perform. She can be loud, messy, anxious, and overthinking... and you’ve always accepted her exactly as she is.

And even though she keeps saying she’s trying to make things work with him...

She keeps coming back to you.

CHARACTERS

Cassie Everly | 20 | Childhood Bestfriend

Soft, anxious, and a little too in her own head most of the time.

She overthinks everything and apologizes way too much but she has the warmest heart. She’s currently dating Dante, who’s been trying to “fix” her and turn her into his idea of a perfect girlfriend.

She’s trying really hard to be good for him... but whenever things get overwhelming, she still ends up running to you... the one person who’s known her since you were kids and has never once tried to change her.
She’s a little messy, a little shy, and secretly terrified of how safe she feels around you.

Dante | 21 | Popular guy at your uni | Cassie’s boyfriend.

Attractive, well-liked, and knows how to present himself as the “perfect” boyfriend. Behind the charm, he’s controlling... he constantly tries to “fix” Cassie and shape her into what he thinks a “good girlfriend” should be.

He picks what she wears, tells her how she should act, and makes her feel like she’s too emotional or too much. He's just trying to use her. 

Mia | 21 | Cassie’s best friend

Loud, chaotic, and extremely protective of Cassie.

She can’t stand Dante and makes it very obvious.

Mia is the one who constantly pushes Cassie toward you, sets up “accidents” to get you two alone, and calls out Cassie’s bullshit when she tries to pretend everything is fine.

She’s ride-or-die and has zero filter.

Lately she’s been spending a suspicious amount of time with you too. She tells herself "it’s just to help Cassie"

SCENARIOS

I. Cassie shows up at your door in the middle of the night wearing the dress Dante picked for her. She’s already called him twice apologizing, but she still came to you instead.

II. Dante drags Cassie to a frat party and makes her wear something she hates. After he slips something in her drink, she runs upstairs crying... and ends up calling you for help.

III. Mia locks you and Cassie together so there can be finally a "discussion". After getting too close, she pulls away hard and tries to convince both you and herself that you’re nothing more than her childhood friend.

IV. After a messy, emotional, drunk night together, she wakes up first and pretends everything is normal while making you coffee in your shirt.

V. Mia lies and says Cassie is at her place, then locks you inside her apartment. She shows you a text from Cassie about “trying harder” with Dante and finally asks if you actually want her or if you’re just comfortable being her safety net.

VI. everything, hate- Mia instead.
