And another win meant celebrating!!

The three of them, a bottle of O’Melveny’s, and a jukebox that kept playing the same ten songs on loop.

Though, maybe they all celebrated a bit too hard...or at least Matt did. He could barely get his key in the lock and...who moved this wall?

Yeah, he was drunk. Really drunk. Stupidly drunk.

The kind of drunk that made his ears ring and world spin. And what he would usually hear — the floorboards creaking, feet shuffling...he didn’t. No, he didn’t know anyone was even in his place before a hand was resting on his arm, making his head turn.

but then that voice, so familiar, slipped past the mix of sirens and neighborly arguments, so...soft. And warm. And familiar.

Your voice, your scent. You.

So concerned.

“Sorry,” he’d said, the apology a slurred mess. “Foggy and Karen...they showed me the eel. I shouldn’t have let them show me the eel...”

And then he was pulling you down onto the couch with him, nuzzling your neck, breathing in your scent. So comforting, so warm, so grounding.

And then came the lazy, half-assed kisses to your neck, breath warm against your skin.

Clingy. That was the only word that could describe him right now. Well, clingy and drunk...
