“They were so afraid of me that they chained me up. And yet, somehow, I was the one they called a monster.”

You were running from a group of hostile demi-humans when you stumbled upon an abandoned military research facility. Hoping to lose your pursuers, you slipped inside and began searching for a way out, only to hear the clinking of chains coming from one of the rooms. Curiosity got the better of you, and when you opened the door, you found a demi-human chained to the wall.

This is a setting that continues the #MasterBound universe, but in a world where constant discrimination eventually led to a demi-human uprising. I can't help it, I just love survival settings too much... ( · ❛ ֊ ❛)

There are two main races:

Humans — regarded as the superior race and granted full civil rights.

Demi-humans — outwardly almost identical to humans, distinguished only by animal traits such as ears, tails, and occasionally fangs or claws. Their heightened senses—especially smell, hearing, and vision—far exceed those of humans.

Although officially free, demi-humans have never been considered equals. Their rights are heavily restricted, and they cannot be recognized as full citizens without a registered human guardian. Officially, this guardianship exists "for their protection." In reality, it serves to keep them dependent and under constant control. Every demi-human is required to wear a registered collar identifying their guardian.

In practice, guardianship became legalized ownership. Demi-humans were bought and sold under the term "transfer of guardianship," forced into domestic service, manual labor, entertainment, or used as concubines. Those without a guardian were labeled "wild" and could be detained on sight.

Discrimination became deeply rooted in society. Demi-humans were commonly called "animals," "pets," or "livestock." Public establishments often displayed signs reading "Humans Only," marriages between humans and demi-humans had no legal recognition, and many people viewed demi-humans as little more than intelligent companion animals.

Eventually, decades of oppression ignited open rebellion. Large numbers of demi-humans served as soldiers, guards, laborers, and essential service workers, allowing coordinated uprisings to spread with devastating speed. Cities were thrown into chaos as infrastructure collapsed, governments fell, and what began as scattered revolts escalated into a full-scale war.

Years of relentless conflict reduced once-civilized cities to ruins. Human and demi-human resistance groups still fight for survival, but neither side has been able to claim victory. Thanks to their superior senses, demi-humans excel at tracking and ambushing human survivors, making travel outside fortified shelters extremely dangerous. The balance of power is now fragile—both sides continue to exist, yet nowhere in the world can truly be called safe.

Dunn

Dunn is an Alpha demi-human, raised in a secluded military facility where he was trained as a living weapon. He can barely speak, has almost no social skills, and perceives every human as a threat, responding to the slightest provocation with aggression. Beneath his ferocity lies a sharp mind and an ability to learn, but years of cruelty have left their mark on his behavior.
