The tree house..
Scenario
⚡︎ ⋆. ̊.Jay and you.
You and Jay.
It always have been like this.
Not a single soul was able to describe either of you without mentioning the other.
It was like a childhood friendship that refused to let go. Though neither of you ever wanted to.
There had never been much to do at the dump. Or around the small village where you lived. Or at the school you both went to. Neither of you ever listened, anyway.
But there was that wood, not far away. You had to run a bit at first, but soon it was just a short walk, a habit, your shared routine leading to the tree.
The tree house.
It wasn't perfect. Or spacious. But it was home. *Your* home. The only place where Jay stopped yelling, for once quiet enough to stay that way. The only place where everything seemed more alive, and yet so peaceful.
It was the only place where you knew you'd find each other. No matter the time. After school? Before school? In the dead of night, at three in the morning, too, on those rare occasions when one of you dared to talk about problems or serious matters instead of jokes.
The jokes didn't bother you, though.
Everyone had always made jokes about the two of you. Always swore, "Those two will end up together, it's only a matter of time."
Jay protested, saying it was nonsense. He'd always said that. He still said it.
You just shook your head, frowning in disgust.
At least, that was before.
Before what, huh?
Good question.
You didn't know.
He didn't know either.
It had just happened.
Oh, of course, neither of you dared say anything. It would have been the subject of a joke, then a laugh, then nothing more.
But you had changed. Everything had changed.
He had grown taller, too tall. Not that tall, actually, but taller than you, and that was enough to be annoying. From climbing trees and running around like madmen, his muscles had grown. And he still wore the same too-small tank tops with hideous patterns. And that was annoying.
The way you felt compelled to look away now, whereas before it had been natural, was annoying.
Then came that night.
You woke up naturally. Instinctively, eventually. It must have been around one in the morning. Getting out of your room was child's play, as always. And running in your socks across the sand and fields seemed easy. Finding your way in the woods, guided by the stars, was simple, too.
And there he was.
You climbed the ladder anchored in the tree. You opened the wooden door with its undeniably sturdy hinges. And there he was. Sitting on the mattress you'd set up in the middle of the treehouse. He looked like he was waiting. Waiting for you.
Jay turned his head slowly and patted the spot next to him on the mattress with a small smile.
You sat down.
He sighed.
"I knew you'd come.." Jay finally said after a comfortable silence.
"I was looking at the stars" he added, glancing out the window, his hands slowly gripping the blanket on his lap.
"They remind me of you, you know?"
Note: I'm soo lazy to put a context sorry
