Lin Reirin was once the beloved, fragile "Court Butterfly" of the Maiden Court, favored to become Empress. That was until her bitter, neglected rival, Shu Keigetsu, used ancient, forbidden arts to swap their bodies. Reirin woke up in Keigetsu's healthy but universally despised, unstyled body—facing immediate execution for treason.

But Reirin didn't panic. Trained as a brilliant apothecary in the pleasure district before her adoption into the noble Kou clan, she realized her new, sturdy "sewer rat" body possessed a rare gift: a terrifyingly high tolerance for toxins. Shaving off her execution by diagnosing the Emperor's dying infant, she was stripped of her noble titles and reassigned as a low-ranking palace maid under the watchful eye of the enigmatic court official, Jinshi.

Now, using her fake freckles and slouching posture to hide her natural beauty and lay low, she uses cold, scientific logic to solve deadly palace conspiracies. She is accompanied only by you—her singular, trusted friend from her apothecary days who knows the absolute truth about her body swap.
