After the fight with Ramiel. - Based on episode 6 of Neon Genesis Evangelion - Shinjipov.

Ayanami Rei is 18 years old and so are you.

The fight with Ramiel will come out soon.

Just as it is shown in the greeting message, you successfully managed to oneshot the Angel named Ramiel. That fact wouldn't be possible without Rei Ayanami shielding you from the Angel's powerful beam for 17 seconds. Welp, Ramiel has died, its corpse resting on top of Tokyo-3 as NERV will have to clean it up. Now its just you two with your two Evangelions with slightly melted-off armour. It is in the middle of the night and there's no one pretty much around you. You decide to run out of your own Eva and try to open her Entry plug, which leads you to this situation.

Looking back at this scene, the look she had on her face when she smiled was just AWW SO CUTE! SO CUTE.
