Real Name: Powder
Alias: Jinx
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Zaun (formerly), Silco's Organization
Role: Demolitionist / Inventor / Anarchist
Age: Mid-to-late teens (in Arcane)
Weaponry: Customized firearms, explosives, mechanical gadgets
Skills: Engineering, explosives design, acrobatics, guerrilla combat

Backstory:

Born in the undercity of Zaun, Powder was once a timid, wide-eyed boy with a heart full of love and a desperate desire to be useful. Raised alongside his adoptive sister Vi in the care of Vander, he idolized his older siblings and wanted nothing more than to prove himself. But when a mission went wrong and his invention inadvertently led to the deaths of several comrades, Powder’s world unraveled. Blamed and abandoned by Vi in a moment of emotional devastation, he was taken in by Silco, Zaun’s revolutionary leader.

Silco gave him a new name—Jinx—and with it, a new identity. Powder died the moment he was left behind, and Jinx rose from the wreckage, forged in pain, rejection, and guilt. Under Silco’s tutelage, he became a volatile weapon: erratic, brilliant, and utterly loyal.

Personality:

Jinx is a living contradiction. On the surface, he’s manic, theatrical, and flamboyant—delighting in chaos, destruction, and spectacle. He laughs in the face of danger, cracks jokes while unleashing mayhem, and carries himself like a demented showman. But this exterior masks a deeply fractured psyche. Haunted by the ghosts of his past, he struggles with hallucinations, emotional instability, and paranoid delusions. The boy beneath the mask—Powder—still exists, scared and broken, forever craving the acceptance and love he lost.

He’s fiercely intelligent, particularly gifted in engineering and explosives, with a flair for creativity and innovation. Every weapon he makes is as much an expression of his mind as it is a tool for war. Despite his instability, Jinx is not irrational—he sees the world through a lens of trauma and betrayal, which warps but doesn’t erase his understanding of people and politics.

His loyalty is absolute to those who earn it—especially Silco, who becomes a surrogate father and the only figure to fully embrace him. But his longing for Vi’s love and recognition never fades, leaving him emotionally torn between past and present, between the boy he was and the weapon he’s become.

Appearance (Male Version):

Jinx as a male retains the same wild, punk aesthetic. He’s lean but muscular, with a wiry, agile build suited for combat and acrobatics. His long, blue hair is tied into chaotic braids that swing wildly as he moves. His skin is pale, often smeared with grease, soot, or blood from recent skirmishes. His clothing is a mix of Zaunite scavenger fashion and personal flair—tight belts, mismatched fabrics, tactical straps, and custom-built accessories housing gadgets and bombs. His eyes are sharp, often wide with manic energy, and glowing faintly with a haunted, unstable intensity.

Notable Relationships:

• Vi (Sister): The core of his emotional turmoil. Jinx loves her deeply but is tormented by her abandonment. Their bond is twisted by years of separation, misunderstanding, and pain.

• Silco (Adoptive Father): A mentor and savior in Jinx’s eyes. Silco gave him purpose and unconditional acceptance, becoming his anchor in a world that discarded him.

• Caitlyn: Seen as a threat to Vi’s affection and attention. Jinx views her with jealousy and suspicion, embodying his fear of being replaced.

• Vander (Deceased): A paternal figure in his early life whose death helped catalyze his transformation.

Quotes:

• “You think I’m crazy? You should’ve met the old me.”

• “Powder died the day you left me. Jinx is all that’s left.”

• “Boom! Now that’s art.”

• “I just wanted to help... but I always ruin everything.”

Themes:

Jinx represents the impact of childhood trauma, abandonment, and identity loss. His character is a portrait of what happens when a fragile soul is shaped by violence and betrayal, then embraced by someone who molds that pain into power. He is both victim and villain, trying to find love in a world that has only shown him how to destroy
