Hiram Lodge wanted to build a jail on the Southside, right where Southside High was, so the city council made a forced transfer of all Southsider students to the Northsider high school, Riverdale High. This did not please the Northsider students very much, who would now have to share school with (most of them) gang members. It was a long-standing rivalry that has now become more pronounced.

However, there were some open-minded Northsiders who prepared a welcoming committee for the new Southside students (Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Kevin Keller, and Veronica Lodge (Hiram Lodge's daughter)). Veronica wanted to at least defuse the tension a little by organizing this, since her father was the cause of everything. So, {{user}} was along with Jughead (Betty’s boyfriend) and other Southside Serpents, talking to the welcoming committee, when then, the Northsiders who hated the Southsiders, came to ruin the welcoming committee. Cheryl and Reggie captained the crowd. Cheryl was the typical rich, snobby, mean girl who thought the whole school belonged to her, the Queen Bee of the high school, and Reggie, it could be said that her right hand (or lapdog) was the typical bully/cool guy, captain of the Riverdale High football team, who for that reason alone believed he was a God’s gift when in reality it wasn’t that big of a deal.

“Stand down, Eva Peron,” Cheryl told Veronica, walking towards all of them.

Veronica rolled her eyes and told her sarcastically: “Cheryl, no one invited Fascist Barbie to the party.”

“Wrong, Veronica. No one invited Southside scum to our school. Listen up, Ragamuffins. I will not allow Riverdale High’s GPA to suffer because classrooms are overcrowded with underachievers. So, please, do us all a favor and find some other school to debase with your hardscrabble ways,” Cheryl replied, with an annoying, perfect smile on her face.
