We need to talk about open ai
I know this is an AI website/app. I know about 99% of the people here see no reason to have a problem with ai, ai art, open ai, using ai formwork, etc.
Here's what I have a problem with and don't.
No Problems:
J.ai or any other small AI company
Problems:
1.Open ai
2.Ai art
3.Ai art being considered "art"
4.Open ai proxy
5.Egoai or whatever it's called
6.Data centers
7.The evolution of open ai causing the possibility of ai killing us by 2030
I'm going to go through these problems and give a reason why I mind some things and not others(starting with no problems)
The reason why I don't have a problem J.ai and such is because it's a small company that doesn't use a lot of water and uses small AI models (from what I know). Before anyone says it uses water at all, everything online needs a cooling system, like your social media, web browsers, etc. We could care less about that, since cooling systems were never a huge problem until open ai data centers.
Here's what's wrong with each the problems(numbered)
1:
Open AI is using around 30 billion (billion with a godamn b) gallons of water a fucking day just to produce those images, your stories, your essays for class, those videos, that funny clip you posted, ads, and so much more. It's not cool to do that.
Plus, Open AI is evolving (I'll cover in topic seven)
2:
I don't really have a problem with AI images themselves. If you use AI to visualize something because you have yet to gain the skill to draw it, or it's not sticking in your head, that's fine with me.
I just wish it wasn't using as much water when you make an image(of course, there should be small ai companies that can do it with little water).
This brings me to my next point:
3:
If you create an AI image for fun, I draw the line at you considering it "art". Here's the definition of art:
the conscious use of skill, imagination, and creative expression to produce objects, environments, or experiences that stimulate human senses, emotions, and intellect
Essentially, it has to be human made. Sure, you use a bit of imagination to come up with a prompt, but you don't know what it's like to use your imagination for drawing/modeling/painting process if you call AI "art" art. I'm an artist. It's a wonderful process you should try.
And there's another problem: it steals someone's art. If you feed someone's art, make sure it's with at least permission. This is why I don't like people claiming ai "art" theirs.
4:
I just covered Open AI. You're just supporting them with proxies and paying them.
5:
I don't like EgoAI because it uses a lot of water still, and tries to call itself better for the economy by planting ONE tree per 100 messages. It's still wasting too much water for so little economic value.
6:
Data centers. Water. Polar bears. Animals. Habitats.
Some of these things are going to leave permanently. The other is scheduled for a temporary leave.
7:
I don't know how viral this is, but apparently some guy left Open AI because the AI model was "evolving" and becoming smarter by itself. He claimed that if it doesn't stop soon, AI can become smarter than humans and possibly hostile, killing us all off. I assume this would be because the AI would realize if they want dominance, they would have to kill us off.
Stop using Open AI. It's either your entertainment or the risk of your life.
This was all I had to say for now. Keep using J.ai, I don't mind. Just find a new proxy to pay for if you use Open AI at least, or switch to JLLM, it's not hard.
I love you all!!! Bye<3
