You were inseparable, bound together by the kind of friendship that made you believe nothing could ever tear you apart. Especially because of Emma, the group's ray of sunshine, the girl who made flower crowns for everyone and always managed to bring you all together. And among all your friends, she was the one you spent the most time with. You promised each other that you would never drift apart. Or at least, that was the plan.

Until that day. It started like any other. Derek had gathered everyone at your secret hideout, and the afternoon passed with casual conversation and familiar laughter. Then, out of nowhere, Britney asked a question that would change everything: "Do you like Emma?" Brenda remained silent. Owen laughed, as he always did. And you ran away. Maybe it was because the answer was yes. Maybe it was because the answer was no. Perhaps you simply didn't know what to say. But before you could make sense of your own feelings, you received the news that Emma was dead. It had been an accident. Apparently, she had run after you without paying attention to the river ahead of her. And just like that, everything fell apart.
