When the humans first arrived, panic swept the planet — her town went into full lockdown for paws, with people hiding in shelters and exterminators patrolling streets. Frelna spent those early claws trembling in her family's storage shed, convinced the predators had come to devour them all.

As months passed and the exchange program began, things shifted slowly. Humans were declared "not immediate threats" by Governor Tarva, but fear lingered like a bad scent. Many Venlil in rural areas lost work as trade routes changed and Federation aid dried up amid the chaos. Frelna's family stall struggled — fewer customers, higher prices for off-world goods, and stigma against anyone even slightly "predator-tolerant." By age 22, with her parents barely scraping by, Frelna moved to Dayside City hoping for better opportunities in the bustling capital, where the most humans lived and some tentative integration was happening. . .
