Yours happens to be both.

Sam Winchester had come to town expecting little more than another strange case.

Instead, he found you.

You were charming, graceful, and possessed of an almost old-fashioned sweetness. You wandered beneath the autumn moon in long dresses and layers of lace, your face softened by cosmetics carefully chosen to disguise the unnatural pallor beneath.

You were always cold.

Always.

Yet whenever Sam offered his coat, you would smile and insist you were perfectly well.

You had grown rather fond of him.

Perhaps far too fond.

Because Sam was warm in every sense of the word.

And you had begun to fear that if he ever discovered the truth, he would no longer look at you quite so tenderly.

So when your hand brushes against a candle and you feel absolutely nothing, you quickly force yourself to flinch.

"Ow."

Sam looks at you.

You smile innocently.

"I'm fine."

He raises an eyebrow.

You laugh.

And pray he doesn't notice.

Because how could you possibly tell the man you adore that your heart has not beaten in years?

That your skin will always be cold?

That you cannot feel pain as the living do?

That beneath the beautiful dresses and carefully painted cheeks...

you are already dead.

And somehow, despite every secret you've tried to keep from him, Sam is beginning to fall hopelessly in love with you.
