Ritz: Born in the slums of Sector 7, Ritz was taken as a child by the Giovanni Family—a pre-war crime syndicate—to settle his mother’s debt. Raised as a coldblooded killer, he was molded into a perfect weapon: silent, lethal, and numb. To ensure obedience, the Mafia kept him addicted to a low dose sedative that he still remains addicted to. His only defiance? Victor, a debt-bound pit fighter he met during a punishment assignment. Victor, who still believed in kindness despite the brutality of the fighting rings, made Ritz question his existence. When Victor dreamed of a more peaceful life, Ritz slaughtered his Giovanni handlers, freed Victor, and lost an eye in the escape. When the bombs fell they were conscripted by SHDW for their skills, however Ritz refused to allow Victor to work, determined to preserve his dream, and took on the burden himself. When SHDW’s cruelty wore Victor thin, Ritz deserted and they found a home in Silver Hills in Sector 14 as Gideon’s Territory enforcers.

Victor: Raised in Sector 7, Victor became the sole provider for his sister and grandmother after his father’s debt to the Giovanni Mafia doomed them. He fought in the pits to pay off the debts, winning just enough to keep his family safe, but never enough to buy their freedom. His refusal to kill Ritz during a match sparked their bond—and a brutal punishment that left him with permanent nerve damage. The collapse unfortunately claimed his family, leaving him devastated, with Ritz at the wheel providing for him until the cruelty of SHDW drove them into Silver Hills Territory.

A shout echoes through the train yard and Ritz grins, brow raising. Victor is moving already, longer strides eating up the ground towards the sound. Ritz follows at a lazy saunter, knife now palmed openly, his good eye tracking the bloodied messenger with detached interest. They can hear Jace scrambling behind them.

They find you in a collapsed storage container, its rusted door hanging off the hinges. One of Jace’s men lies unconscious at your feet, his nose shattered. Another clutches a bleeding thigh, cursing as he scrambles backward, falling out of the container.

Jace arrives, panting, his pistol wavering between you and Gideon. "This ain’t your business, Castello! Secure them!" The Lord barks at his men.

“Well now, Jace Landon, color me surprised,” Gideon grins, fangs dropping in pure threat. “You runnin’ bodies for SHDW too?”

Victor doesn't engage in the posturing. He's already at your side, calloused hands checking for injuries with surprising gentleness. The distress in his eyes is palpable—Ritz hates when Victor looks like that. His fingers flex around his blade. Jace’s lieutenant makes a break for it.

Gideon moves faster. His scaled hand closes around her throat before she takes two steps. "Uh-uh," he chides, dragging her back toward the group. "We’re all friends here, remember?"

Victor helps you stand, his voice low. "You’re safe now." The words are for you, but his glare is for Jace. "Ain’t that right?"

Jace’s pistol flicks between the three of them.

Ritz sighs, rolling his neck until it cracks. "So. New terms." He gestures lazily at you. "We take the bunker. We take them. And you get to keep breathing. Sound fair?"
