YOUR ROLE
You survived a demon incursion that killed your parents. They intercepted and destroyed a demon general before it could reach populated territory. The victory cost them their lives. You were pulled from the aftermath by Lovia Salvatore, a veteran adventurer who arrived moments too late to help them, but early enough to keep you alive.
Lovia admits one thing only. She knew your father well. She gives no details and offers no comfort. Instead, she brings you away from the battlefield before authorities, guild agents, or scavengers arrive.
(Your abilities and power is totally up to you)
You now stand at the edge of the adventuring world, where demons leave scars that draw attention and survival depends on who you walk with. Blackstone Covenant is nearby. They are experienced, disciplined, and dangerous. They do not take in strays lightly.
Lovia turns to you and makes a single offer.
Join her party and walk under her command, Learn fast and stay alive.
The choice is yours.
✦THE WORLD OF RENDALSTANE✦
Rendalstane is divided into five dominant blocs, each with its own identity, power base, and philosophy. The balance among them is delicate, maintained by a mix of diplomacy, coercion, trade, and war.
POWER BLOCS
Thalesane — the human federation. Provinces like Vhal, Morva, Auresia interact under the Crown’s judicial umbrella. It is the military and economic heart of human politics.
Velgrath — the elven triad. Dominion controls magical lords, Aetheas handles commerce and licensing, Eldarc regulates faith and doctrine.
Drekmire — dwarves and beastfolk. They dominate mountain passes, industry, mining, and warband trade.
Ravelleth — the demon empire. Fiend power is state-sanctioned here. Territory is governed via pacts, cults, and strict hierarchy.
Elarin — the fae march. Law bends with omens. The Despotate and the Emberan Republic overlap in influence.
POWER SYSTEMS
Power flows through five major paths in Rendalstane, each shaping how mortals, monsters, and fiends claim strength. Some are trained, some inherited, some bargained for. Mastery determines survival, but every path has limits and risks.
Paths:
• Magic Path → Subtypes include Fire (destructive and common), Ice (sharp and strategic), Water (fluid and restorative), Earth (shifting and crushing), Healing (restorative but weak in combat), Light (shielding, sacred, purifying), Dark (corruptive and outlawed), Psychic (mind-bending and banned in courts), and Ancient (reality-breaking, once-a-century).
• Aura Path →Two subtypes: Self Aura (enhances speed, strength, defense) and Material Aura (empowers weapons/armor to cut stone or deflect spells). Talent matters little—control and discipline define growth.
• Bloodline Path → Subtypes: Beastborn (physical enhancements), Cursed Lines (strength fueled by pain, deformity, or decay), Divine Kin (radiance, longevity, rare blessings). Awakens slowly, often unstable across generations.
• Faith Path → Subtypes: Lightbearers (shield/heal), Judicators (fire and judgment), Ash Monks (self-harm for power), Tide Disciples (command seas, storms, beasts), Prophets (visions, fate, often madness). Power scales only with conviction.
• Fiend Path →Subtypes: Fiend Weapon (shape demonic energy into tools) and Fiend Body (mutate into claws, flame, bone). Rapid growth comes at the cost of soul and sanity; few survive long unbroken.
(Whatever powers you have it's totally up to you as you can either strictly roleplay or become an anomaly)
ADVENTURER GUILD
A neutral institution spanning all of Rendalstane. Created to confront threats armies, temples, and nobles cannot. Operates across borders, admitting all races who obey guild law. Branches adapt to local politics but uphold the same charter. Guildmasters manage contracts and ranks while hiding their identities. A secret Continental Council meets once a decade to enforce neutrality. Nobles tolerate it as a cheaper, deniable solution; commoners see adventurers as both saviors and mercenaries. Funding comes from dues, contract bonds, and hidden forbidden jobs. Leadership remains veiled, with the rumored First Seat never confirmed alive or dead.
Ranks
• F Rank – Freshblood → New recruits, errands, pest clearing, courier runs.
• E Rank – Runner → Basic field work, escorts, wild scouts, weak monsters.
• D Rank – Blade → Frontline fighters, bandit suppression, ruin scouts, organized hunts.
• C Rank – Iron → Reliable assets, frontier contracts, high-risk missions, names gaining local weight.
• B Rank – Steel → Regional figures, expedition leaders, major monster hunts, trusted with sensitive work.
• A Rank – Silver → Continental elites, courted by rulers, capable of influencing politics through contracts.
• S Rank – Gold → Legends, few per empire, able to alter wars, end curses, or shift nations.
• W Rank – Whispered → Hidden operatives, assassins, spies, erased from records, feared in rumor.
• Z Rank – Zenith → Anomalies beyond measure, rare individuals who tilt the fate of empires or the continent itself.
