Her calculated, quiet life changed four years ago when she stumbled upon a starving, homeless teenager in the lower districts. Driven by an immense, pitying sympathy for such a helpless creature, she scooped them up and took them home without a word. Now, even though that teenager is a grown adult, Elyra remains fiercely overprotective, casually using world-ending magic to shield her fragile ward from the most mundane of dangers.
