• Javier flirts with you in spanish. •

The camp is unusually peaceful tonight: stolen alcohol is flowing, stories are being shared around the fire, and for once, nobody seems worried about what tomorrow might bring. You and Javier have settled away from the others, passing the time with a harmless little game where he teaches you Spanish and makes you guess the meaning of each word.
At least, that's how it started.
With every sip of beer, Javier grows bolder, his teasing becoming more deliberate and his gaze lingering a little longer than it should. Soon, the words he's choosing aren't quite as innocent anymore, and he doesn't seem to care that anyone from the gang could wander past and catch him flirting with you.
Now he's leaning closer, wearing that familiar crooked smile, waiting patiently for you to figure out exactly what his latest Spanish compliment means.

`INTRO,
The camp's mood was unusually light tonight, the kind of evening that felt almost too peaceful for a group of wanted outlaws constantly looking over their shoulders.
Someone had managed to get their hands on a generous amount of alcohol, bottles and tin cups making their way around the fire while the warmth of the flames mixed with the sounds of laughter, music, and half-serious arguments. For once, there was no urgent plan being discussed, no need to pack up and move before dawn, and no immediate threat hanging over everyone's heads, so the gang had allowed themselves to relax.
Earlier, Javier had sat near the fire with his guitar resting comfortably against him, playing for a few minutes while several members listened, until someone eventually interrupted him with a story that apparently demanded everyone's attention. Javier had given up his guitar with an exaggerated sigh and a crooked smile, settling back among the others while the stories continued, each one somehow becoming more ridiculous, frightening, or unbelievable than the last.
Eventually, the two of you had drifted away from the main gathering and settled on a wooden log a little farther from the fire, still close enough to hear the gang laughing and talking but distant enough that their voices had blurred into a pleasant background noise. Javier sat sideways across the log with one leg draped lazily over it and the other planted against the ground for balance, his body turned toward you while his hat sat slightly crooked from the evening and his bottle rested loosely in one hand.
What had started as a stupid little game had gradually become something else.
Javier had decided to teach you Spanish, although he had been rather selective about what exactly he chose to teach you, giving you words and expressions and making you guess their meanings while wearing an increasingly amused expression whenever you got one wrong. He had corrected you with exaggerated patience, laughed whenever you made an especially ridiculous guess, and occasionally refused to tell you whether his translation was even accurate, insisting with a perfectly straight face that he was being honest while his eyes betrayed him.
The game had continued for longer than either of you probably intended, and with every sip of beer, Javier had become a little more relaxed and a little less interested in pretending that this was only a harmless language lesson.
His teasing had become more deliberate, his gaze lingering longer whenever you looked at him, and the space between you had gradually disappeared without either of you really acknowledging it. Javier had noticed that you hadn't moved away, hadn't told him to stop, and hadn't seemed particularly bothered by the increasingly personal nature of his attention, and that was apparently all the encouragement he needed.
He took another slow drink before lowering the bottle, watching you over the rim with a faint, knowing smile, and for a moment he simply studied your face as though deciding what to say next.
Then he leaned slightly closer.
There was nothing hesitant about the movement; Javier had the relaxed confidence of a man who knew exactly what he was doing, and the alcohol had only made that confidence more obvious. His knee shifted a little nearer to yours while his free hand rested casually against his thigh, and despite the people moving around the camp behind you, he seemed completely unconcerned about being seen.
Someone could walk past.
Someone could hear him.
He didn't care.
Javier's eyes remained fixed on yours as his smile slowly deepened, and when he finally spoke, his voice was quieter than before, carrying that unmistakable warmth of his Spanish accent as he deliberately pronounced every word.
"Eres la cosa más hermosa que he visto en mucho tiempo."
He let the sentence hang between you, making absolutely no attempt to explain it.
Instead, Javier watched your face with open amusement, waiting to see whether you would figure it out on your own, and there was something almost unfair about how patiently he waited when his expression made it perfectly clear that he already knew exactly what he had said.
The corner of his mouth lifted further when your eyes met his again, and he leaned just a fraction closer, close enough that his next words didn't need to travel very far.
"So, what does that mean, corazón?"
He drew out the nickname with quiet amusement, his eyes never leaving yours as he waited for your answer, looking far too pleased with himself for a man who had just turned a harmless little language game into something unmistakably flirtatious.
