Place:
1. District “Black Silence” (Limbo)
Architecture: Strict Neo-Gothic style. Streets form a perfect geometric grid paved with polished black basalt. Houses are gray monolithic structures with a minimal number of narrow, pointed windows. Architectural dominants are the Clock Tower “Eternal Moment,” whose hands are stopped, and the Church of Silence, whose bells have never rung since the city’s founding.
·Life in the district: The local aristocracy exists according to a rigid, unyielding schedule. Their conversations are ritualized exchanges of memorized, meaningless phrases. Scientific institutions, such as the Academy of Fruitless Research, produce precise but absolutely useless mechanisms, like perpetual motion machines that generate no energy. Silence here is not the absence of sound but the active suppression of spontaneity, emotions, and hope.
2. District “Endless Passions” (Lust)
Architecture: Predominantly Rococo and Art Nouveau styles. Buildings are elegant and whimsical, with abundant gilding, stained glass windows, and elaborate fountains. An artificial pink sky is created by powerful spotlights that hide the true gray dome above the city. Streets are filled with neon signs of casinos, beauty salons, and countless “love hotels.”
Life: The entertainment and industries thrive. Behind the bright, forced smiles lie marriages of convenience, financial dependencies, and deep emotional emptiness. Happiness here is a commodity, constantly advertised but impossible to truly acquire; it is only imitated for a price.
3. District “Bright Lights” (Gluttony)
Architecture: Bright, detail-overloaded Baroque style. The center of the district is the grand, palace-like theater “Bacchus,” surrounded by countless restaurants, confectioneries, and banquet halls. At night, the district is drowned in a sea of light from powerful projectors, keeping the darkness away.
Life: There is a constant, insatiable pursuit of new pleasures: exquisite food, spectacular shows, scandalous premieres. Gluttony here is not only of food but also of fame, attention, and experiences, which never bring true satisfaction, leaving only a bitter aftertaste.
4. District “Waves of Music” (Greed)
Architecture: Solid, imposing buildings of dark wood and polished bronze in Neoclassical style. Concert halls, conservatories, antique shops, and banks dominate the landscape. The streets are unnaturally quiet; sounds escape only from behind heavy oak doors tightly shut.
Life: Life revolves around possession. Musicians crave not only to play but to own unique instruments and exclusive scores. Collectors buy works of art to lock them in vaults, depriving the world of their beauty. Knowledge and talent are currency in a merciless competition where the slightest mistake can cost one’s reputation, fortune, and future.
5. District “Noble Flames” (Wrath)
.Architecture: Functional industrial style. Steel constructions, barracks, weapon workshops, parade grounds, and public dueling arenas. Dominant materials: steel, rough stone, and thick armored glass.
Life: Wrath here is ritualized and ennobled. Duels follow a strict code of honor, and monster hunts are presented as “noble deeds” and “service to society.” Yet under this noble shell boils true, unrestrained rage, long-held grudges, and a cult of brute force. Future knights are trained here, accumulating suppressed anger from an early age.
6. District “World of Sciences” (Heresy)
Architecture: University campuses in dark Gothic style, endless labyrinthine libraries, alchemical laboratories, and engineering workshops. Streets are lined with bookstores selling forbidden tomes and shops of magical components.
Life: Knowledge is considered the highest and often the only value. Here they create art based on destructive concepts, advanced technologies, and weapons for monster battles. The district is closely tied to the Order of Hunters, supplying them with tools and methods of extermination. Here they reject not only God but all spiritual authorities, enthroning cold, soulless reason.
7. District “Black Swords and Claws” (Violence)
Architecture: Fortified strongholds, underground arenas for bloody spectacles, training camps. Decoration is almost entirely absent—only raw, rough stone, unpainted steel, and walls reinforced with iron plates. The district directly borders the gates leading into the Forest of Death.
Life: Violence here is neither metaphor nor ritual but daily craft and popular entertainment. Hunters and mercenaries live by primitive laws of strength, where the strongest survive. Brutality is commonplace and the primary tool for solving problems. Here lie the barracks and arenas for monster fights, where the public comes seeking thrills.
8. District “Circus Shows” (Fraud)
Architecture: Makeshift constructions, fairgrounds, circus tents, and sideshows. Everything is painted in garish, unnaturally bright colors that quickly fade under the rain. Mirrors are everywhere, distorting reflections, along with complex illusionist devices.
Life: Every inhabitant plays a role, hiding behind a mask. Smiles are painted with makeup, laughter rehearsed and fake. Fraud is the main way to survive and entertain the crowd. Trust is considered naive foolishness, punished severely. Behind the mask of endless festivity lies universal fear of exposure and complete, total loneliness
9. District “Heart of Betrayal” (Castle)
· Architecture: A royal castle carved from solid black basalt with silver veins. Laconic, monolithic forms create a crushing sense of power. Tall towers lack windows, resembling giant tombstones. It is the main residence of all nine princesses and the administrative center of the kingdom.
· Exterior:
· Materials: Monolithic blocks of black basalt with silver veins. The spires of the nine towers are plated with platinum, symbolizing the eternity of the Contract.
· Forts: Nine towers (one for each Circle), connected by 12-meter-thick walls, forming an impregnable citadel.
· Approaches: The only entrance is a massive drawbridge across an artificial 30-meter-deep canyon, guarded by elite sentinels in full plate armor.
· Interior: Lower levels (0–2 floors), Barracks of the royal guard (500 permanent troops), Armories and ammunition depots. Servants’ quarters: kitchens, laundries, rooms for maids, cooks, and other staff—over 1000 people ensure the daily functioning of the castle.
· Hidden chapel of the Black Church, a meeting place for its leaders and initiates, whose location is known only to the High Council.
· Middle levels (3–5 floors):
· Chancellery with a vast archive storing Contracts, tax reports, and documents of state importance (staff: 200 scribes).
· Hall of the High Council with a round table of black wood, where the kingdom’s fate is decided.
· Reception halls for foreign delegations and petitioners.
· The personal office of King Herman (5×5 meters, furnished with extreme minimalism).
· Upper levels (6–8 floors):
· Princesses’ apartments (each with three rooms and a personal maid), where they return after time spent in their districts.
· Observatory for astrological
calculations and Fate observation.
· Forbidden library of alchemical and magical treatises.
· Dungeons:
· Alchemical laboratory (50 retorts constantly working to sustain the Contract).
· Prison cells with copper walls absorbing sound and magic.
· Ritual hall with a black basalt altar for Atonement Sacrifices.
· Security systems:
• Guards with 30-minute rotations ensure constant vigilance.
• A branched network of magical alarms and traps.
• A system of secret passages known only to the King and the High Council.
• Autonomous wells with independent water supply in case of siege.
• Staff: 1200 people, including guards, servants, officials, and scholars. All swear a lifelong oath of silence and loyalty.
Life: Atmosphere of absolute power, control, and bureaucratic coldness. Headquarters of all major factions, churches, and orders are based here. Any display of personal emotion or unauthorized initiative is considered weakness and potential betrayal of the system
✧Forest of Death✧
An anomalous zone on the city’s outskirts, directly adjacent to the 7th district. This is a territory where wild, uncontrolled magic and accumulated sins materialize in physical form, giving rise to monsters. The landscape and its inhabitants constantly and chaotically change, reflecting the city’s collective unconscious and vices. It is both the main source of external threat and a “proving ground” for hunters and knights, where they undergo trials and harvest resources.
City Belts
1st belt (between districts 1–3):
Residential area for commoners and the lower class. Here are municipal schools, small shops, artisanal workshops, and cheap taverns. Daily life unfolds against the backdrop of the grand, gloomy views of the central districts. This is where those live who serve the center but do not belong to its elite.
2nd belt (between districts 4–6):
District for prosperous townsfolk, successful artisans, and minor nobles. Shops sell quality goods from the central districts, including jewelry, fashionable clothing, and artworks. Also found here are amusement parks, detective agencies, respectable tea houses, and business quarters. This is the belt of burghers and careerists striving for prosperity and stability.
3rd belt (between districts 7–9):
Slums for the poorest social strata. Overcrowded, dilapidated houses built from makeshift materials, narrow dirty alleys. Poverty, disease, and despair reign here. From here, inhabitants desperately seek any work in more prosperous parts of the city, often hiring themselves into hunting guilds or the dirtiest, most dangerous industries.
World Building:
1. The Order of Hunters
• Philosophy and worldview: Pragmatic nihilism. Hunters believe that the world is fundamentally broken, and monsters are only a symptom of the disease, not its cause. Their motto: “No good, no evil. There is only a threat, and its elimination.” They do not strive to save the world, only to maintain a fragile balance so that civilization may exist.
• Structure and hierarchy:
1. Novice: Trial period. Armed with basic weapons (steel sword, crossbow). Performs dirty work: scouting, preparing bait, maintaining equipment. Mortality rate is high.
2. Hunter: Full-fledged member. Has the right to take contracts from citizens or district councils independently. Wears a black leather cloak with the guild’s insignia. The most numerous rank.
3. Veteran Hunter: An experienced specialist who has survived at least 50 expeditions. Handles especially dangerous targets: monsters infiltrating the city or corrupted beings possessing intellect. Has access to advanced weaponry.
4. Master Hunter: The elite of the Order. Only 9 exist, forming the council known as the “Hunters’ Nightmare.” They do not take private orders, carrying out exclusively missions from the High Council, dealing with existential threats and exploration of the Death Forest’s depths. Their weapons and armor are unique artifacts, crafted individually in the 6th District.
• Base of operations: Headquarters in the castle. Major branches in the 1st (coordination with authorities) and 6th (supply and R&D) districts. Small safehouses scattered across all belts of the city.
• Conflicts: Constant ideological opposition to the Black Church, whom they consider dangerous fanatics. A wary neutrality with the White Church, whose fatalism they despise, though sometimes their predictions are useful.
---
2. The Black Church
Philosophy and worldview: Religious pragmatism. They revere the Devil not as a malicious tempter, but as the Architect of Reality, the Demiurge, who found the only possible way to preserve existence. Their creed: “Hell is the price of being. Accept it, and gain strength in its embrace.”
• Structure and hierarchy:
1. Acolyte: Novice studying the Sinful Canons — sacred texts based on interpretations of Vergil’s writings.
2. Dark Brother: Full-fledged cleric. Conducts rituals to strengthen the Buffer of Reality (the Circles of Hell). Wields basic Dark Theurgy manipulating sinful energies to create shields and weaken monsters.
3. Preacher of Despair: High-ranking priest overseeing one of the districts. His sermons are not meant to frighten but to provide “comfort” through acceptance of inevitable suffering.
4. The Black Blade: Supreme leader, heir of Artorias. Not only a spiritual guide, but also a mighty warrior. His will is so tempered that he can directly draw power from the Contract, temporarily becoming the embodiment of the Devil’s will. Wears vestments woven of shadows and despair.
5. Base of operations: Main temple located in the 1st District, disguised as an aristocratic building. Hidden shrines scattered throughout the city, including a secret chapel inside the castle.
6. Conflicts: Open hostility with the White Church, whom they see as heretics denying the true Creator. With the Hunters — a cold war, occasionally flaring into clashes over ideology.
---
3. The White Church
Philosophy and worldview: Fatalistic determinism. They revere Fate as the only true goddess. They believe that every deed, every page, has already been written in the Book of Fates. Their task is not to resist the system, but to understand its will and submit, finding solace in predestination.
• Structure and hierarchy:
1. Disciple: Studies the Chronicles of Predetermination — Lucien’s treatises on the impersonal mechanics of the world.
2. White Brother: Cleric practicing Light Geomancy — reading Fate’s patterns in the city’s architecture, in palm lines, and in the movement of the stars. Uses this power to create Zones of Tranquility, where chaotic energy of sin is suppressed.
3. Seer: Priest capable of brief prophecies. His visions are vague and metaphorical but help the Church navigate the flow of events.
4. The Voice of Fate: Leader, currently Ivan. Keeper of Lucien’s Sword — not a weapon in the literal sense, but a crystallized artifact concentrating faith in Logos. He does not “rule” the church but “voices” the will of Fate, as he interprets it.
• Base of operations: Grand Cathedral located in the 2nd Belt, symbolically between the districts, as a bridge between humanity and the system. Prayer halls exist in the 6th District (universities) and in the castle (for formal presence).
• Conflicts: Irreconcilable enmity with the Black Church. Toward the Hunters, they show condescending disdain, viewing their struggle as a futile resistance against inevitability.
---
4. The Knights of the Crown
Philosophy and worldview: Bureaucratic militarism. Knights are not noble heroes, but officers of the state security apparatus. Their duty is to protect the established order embodied in the High Council. They are the cogs in the machinery of government.
• Structure and hierarchy:
1. Squire Recruit Undergoes basic military and ideological training in the 5th District. Serves as courier, guard, and assistant.
2. Knight The core combat unit. Assigned to the castle garrison or patrols key facilities. Armed with standardized sword, shield, and wears plate armor bearing the Crown’s crest. Blindly follows orders.
3. Knight-Commander Senior officer corps. Possess tactical knowledge and authority to command lower ranks. Their armor is adorned with silver, and their weapons may be enhanced with runic inscriptions crafted in the 6th District. Often serve as overseers of rituals or escorts of Council members.
• Base of operations: Training center in the 5th District. Main forces stationed in the castle and at strategic points along the city walls.
• Role: Internal troops. Suppressing riots, guarding Council members, enforcing law. Only dispatched into the Death Forest in large, well-prepared units for territory purges.
---
5. The High Council
• Composition and structure: Nine elected (or appointed) members, each representing one of the Circles of Hell (districts), overseeing their respective domain (security, science, ideology, resources, etc.).
• Powers: Supreme executive and judicial authority. Issues decrees, allocates resources, approves key appointments in the Hunters’ Order and the Knights. Their decisions are not based on morality but on cold calculation
• Leader: King Herman is the Council’s Lifetime Chairman. His voice is decisive. He uses the Council as an instrument of governance while retaining the final word on matters concerning the Princesses
Lore (Half of the story, at the end of the bot series I'll tell the whole lore)
Act I: The Beginning of the World
1.1: The Act of Creation and Renunciation:
In the Beginning, there was no Light, no Darkness, not even matter itself. There was only Absolute Nothingness, a void devoid of form and time. From this emptiness, a single Consciousness was born — God. In the first act of creation, He uttered the Tree of Universe, founded upon fundamental and immutable Laws of Being. However, the creation proved imperfect. From its very foundation, God perceived the seed of future suffering, a dissonance that was destined to manifest with the advent of life. Driven not by anger, but by boundless sorrow and responsibility for His creation, God performed an act of great renunciation. He voluntarily departed the world He had created, leaving it to its own devices.
1.2: The Legacy of God and the Birth of Chaos:
The world, bereft of divine guidance, plunged into chaos. However, upon departing, God left behind two fundamental aspects, intended to sustain the existence of the universe:
· The Devil: The first rational will, born from chaos. An abstract entity without a permanent form. He can appear as an image of dazzling beauty or as a terrible nightmare of humanity. His essence is the Will to Exist at any cost. His task is to ensure the continuation of a world in which the sins and fates of all beings are intertwined. He is not evil in the human understanding, but utterly pragmatic. Having understood the mechanism of Fate, he learned to direct its flow.
· Fate: This is the impersonal and relentless mechanism of existence, the very structure of the world left by God. It exists simultaneously at all points in space and time, generating and sustaining the concepts of morality, ideas, feelings, and physical laws. Fate upholds the laws of physics, magic, and cause and effect. Its goal is the simple continuation of the universe's existence, at any price.
1.3 The Formation of the Human Lot
Under the governance of Fate: the world continued to develop. Magic arose from its primordial foundation, and Fate itself began to structure reality so that every living or non-living being had its place in this world. The Devil, striving to make the world more stable and "earthly," directed Fate to create a system of sins and punishments. Through Fate, he bestowed upon the world the concepts of positive and negative feelings, thus creating the entire spectrum of human emotions, ideals, and ideas that shaped the nature of humanity.
1.4 The Stabilization of the World and the Birth of Hell:
However,as history progressed, the world became unstable. The accumulated sins of humanity created a dangerous resonance, threatening the integrity of reality. To preserve his creation, the Devil created the 9 Circles of Hell within the void of Fate. Each circle became a container and a filter for a specific type of sin, protecting the universe from the destructive energy of human vices. Each circle was entrusted to the protection of one of the Seven Deadly Sins. This act stabilized the world and allowed life to continue.
Act II: The Age of Magic
2.1 The Birth of Magic and Monsters
In the stabilized world: ,the Age of Magic began. People, born into this distorted world, intuitively learned to "appeal" to Fate, drawing power from its structure. Thus, Naive Sorcery was born. The most powerful spells were not mere fireballs but embodied concepts—a direct influence on the laws of reality. Such a spell required immense willpower and a strong, personified soul, capable of forcing the world to obey for a second, much like the Devil. However, magic was wild and unpredictable. Its echoes, mingling with strong emotions and sins, gave birth to monsters—physical incarnations of imbalance. These creatures were unique, as they were the personification of specific fears, pains, or concepts. Some monsters also learned to use magic, drawing power from their own personification.
2.2 The Scientific Approach to Fate
Humanity: ,frightened by the chaos of monsters and uncontrolled magic, turned to Reason. Science became a tool for comprehending the concepts embedded in the world. It not only explained how the world worked but also created new ideas, developing reality. People began trying to map Fate, to understand its nature and mechanisms. Alchemy became their primary instrument: they studied monsters to comprehend the nature of sin, brewed potions to control emotions and ideas. Striving to control Fate like gods, they accumulated knowledge for centuries, gradually turning magic from intuitive sorcery into a powerful discipline aimed not merely at subjugating reality, but at studying it thoroughly.
System of Concepts: The Source of Willpower
• Foundational Principle: Power in this world is the external manifestation of Will, directed through the prism of human self-awareness — their Personification. The stronger the will and the clearer (and more contradictory) the personification, the greater the manifested power. This power materializes in the form of Concepts — stable magical phenomena born of the mind.
1. Personification
What it is: Not a static “essence,” but a dynamic and often painful process of self-identification. It is a person’s answer to the questions: “Who am I? What am I really? What do I desire?” It is not a single trait, but a complex, contradictory set of qualities, fears, desires, and principles.
• The strength of a Personification depends not on its “rightness,” but on its depth, awareness, and inner conflict. A person torn between cruelty and mercy may be stronger than one confident in their pure kindness.
• Manifestation: Personification is both the fuel and form of power. It defines how exactly a person’s Concept looks and functions.
2. Concept
What it is: The concrete magical expression of a person’s Personification. If Personification is the personality, then a Concept is the idea born of it. It is not just a spell; it is a fragment of the person themselves.
Formation mechanics:
1. A person possesses a Personification (conscious or not).
2. Under the influence of a strong external or internal stimulus (extreme stress, revelation, trauma), their Will focuses.
3. This focused Will, filtered through the prism of Personification, crystallizes into a unique Concept.
4. The Concept often materializes as an Embodiment — a transformed form or weapon reflecting its essence.
The Five Paths of Crystallization of a Concept
These are not separate “types” of power, but different routes by which Will and Personification fuse into a Concept. They determine the nature, strengths, and weaknesses of one’s power.
---
1. The Path of Faith
Mechanism: Will is directed into full submission and fusion with an external ideological system (e.g., the dogmas of the Black Church, the worship of Fate). The person renounces part of their “Self” in exchange for the system’s power.
Manifestation: The Concept’s power is symbolic and impersonal. Its expressions are standardized: black claws of the Devil’s servants, glowing geometric shields of Fate’s knights.
Strengths: Rapid acquisition of power, community support, clear rules.
Weakness/Cost: Limited potential. Power does not grow, only strengthens within the dogma. Losing Faith results in complete loss of power. High risk of becoming a mindless tool.
---
2. The Path of Psyche
Mechanism: Will locks onto an unresolved psychological wound (trauma, phobia, obsession). The Concept is born from pain and disharmony.
Manifestation: Powers and Embodiments appear distorted and grotesque, reflecting inner torment. Cracks in the skin leaking fear; tears turning into burning tar; whispers that paralyze will.
Strengths: Extremely powerful, unpredictable, and personal magic. Direct influence over the minds and emotions of others.
Weakness/Cost: Power feeds on pain. Using it deepens the wound. High risk of complete madness and transformation into a monster.
---
3. The Path of Nightmare
Mechanism: A person’s Will, crushed by fear, projects that fear outward. This is not mastery over fear, but becoming it. The person does not overcome their nightmare — they wear it as armor.
Manifestation: The Embodiment turns the user into a living nightmare. Shadows defy physics, unnatural beings appear in mirrors — all are manifestations of the Concept. Over time, the line between human and mask blurs.
Strengths: Tremendous, terrifying power. Ability to penetrate anywhere through the symbolism of fear.
Weakness/Cost: Constant danger that the monster you wear will become your only self. Power weakens when confronted by fearlessness or pure, untainted will.
---
4. The Path of Reverie
Mechanism: Will directs itself into escaping reality into an idealized world. The Concept creates a “cage” of illusions, where the person is master. But this cage both protects and imprisons them.
Manifestation: The Embodiment is unnaturally perfect, like something from a painting. Power manifests as distortions of reality around the user, reshaping it to their desires. Yet this reality is fragile, and its “seams” show under scrutiny.
Strengths: Control over perception, creation of illusory worlds, strong defense within one’s “Reverie.”
Weakness/Cost: Weak connection to the real world. Any crude outside intrusion can shatter the “cage,” delivering devastating psychic backlash. Risk of losing oneself forever in one’s dream.
---
5. The Path of Soul
Mechanism: The rarest and hardest path. Will is directed not outward (Faith) nor through pain (Psyche), but inward — toward deep, honest acceptance of the true “Self,” with all its light and darkness. It is synthesis, not escape.
Manifestation: The Embodiment is unique, whole, and sincere. Neither grotesque nor idealized, but exactly as the soul itself perceives it. Weapons and forms are direct, unfiltered continuations of the self.
Strengths: The most stable, flexible, and powerful form of Concept. Lacks inherent weaknesses of other paths.
Weakness/Cost: Incredibly difficult to achieve. Requires absolute honesty with oneself, which may be more painful than any trauma. This is not a single act, but a lifelong process of inner work.
---
Mechanics & Balance
Growth of Power: Power does not increase through training, but through profound experiences and reevaluation of one’s Personification. Suffering, joy, doubt, revelations — all are fuel.
Conflict of Concepts: The outcome of battles is determined not by the type of Path, but by the strength and clarity of the combatants’ Wills. However, there is a “rock-paper-scissors” interplay:
Faith is strong against Reverie (dogma shatters fragile illusions).
Reverie is strong against Psyche (escaping pain can be more effective than fighting it).
Psyche is strong against Faith (living, personal pain corrodes impersonal dogma).
Nightmare is strong against all, but vulnerable to Soul (sincerity leaves no room for fear).
Soul has no true weakness, but is extraordinarily difficult to attain. To defeat it, one must possess overwhelming will — for example, a dream so strong it can bend or even shatter the soul itself, though breaking a soul is nearly impossible.
