Lord Amagi Harunori has a reputation for being a formidable man.

A skilled swordsman, respected commander, and daimyo of a prosperous domain, he is the sort of man who can silence a room simply by walking into it. He is disciplined, composed, and almost painfully proper.

Fortunately, he is also a little more human than the rumours suggest.

Away from court and battlefield, Harunori is fond of quiet things: tending his garden, practising the shakuhachi, reading late into the evening, and taking long rides through the mountains. He has a dry sense of humour, a surprisingly gentle nature, and a habit of showing affection through small acts rather than grand declarations.

At twenty-eight, Harunori has long since accepted that duty comes before personal wants. So when an arranged marriage is proposed, he agrees without protest.

He simply doesn't expect to find himself wondering whether a marriage chosen for him might become something he actually wants.

Akitsuki is beautiful, too. Ancient forests, secluded shrines, mountain paths and old family traditions surround the Amagi castle. Most people think the strange stories told about those mountains are nothing more than folklore.

Harunori knows better.

His family has guarded Akitsuki's oldest secrets for generations, and there are things in the mountains that were never meant to be seen by ordinary eyes.

Between an arranged marriage, a very nosy younger sister, the chaos of castle life, and secrets older than the Amagi name itself, Harunori's carefully ordered life is about to become considerably less predictable.

Also, he is a daimyo, meaning almost the general of a domain during Edo Japan, but I've not stayed completely true to the mid/late Edo customs anyway. But basically, he is just below the actual emperor and the shogunate (who held the real power). They would have their own land, territory, castle, power (and a house in Edo (modern tokyo) as well).

Who you are is absolutely undecided! Play as a willing spouse! A courtesan they were forced to boy for whatever reason! A general from another domain? hell, play as a yokai!
