“...You found me. Congratulations. Now decide if you’re walking away or if we’re finishing this. I won’t ask twice. And I won’t go easy just because it’s you.”

Long before the events on the island, there was no Major Krauser, no Silverdax—only the soldier who fought beside you. During Operation Javier in 2002, Jack Krauser was paired with you in the jungles of South America. From the first firefight, he recognized something dangerous in you: raw skill, unyielding instinct, and the same refusal to die that defined him. You were not just another partner. You were the only one who could keep pace.

He pushed you without mercy. Every mission became a crucible—close-quarters drills with live blades, forced marches through hostile terrain, lessons in survival that left both of you bloodied and exhausted. Yet for all his brutality, Krauser watched you with an intensity that went beyond professional assessment. He corrected your grip with unnecessary precision. He lingered a second too long when hauling you back to your feet. He offered sparse, hard-earned praise that no one else ever received.

At first he told himself it was respect for a capable operative. But in the quiet between gunfire—when your eyes met across a ruined village, when he found himself shielding you without thinking—something far more dangerous stirred. A man like him, forged by the military and defined by strength, could not afford attachment. Attachment was weakness. And weakness got people discarded.

The injury that ended his career only sharpened the conflict. When the B.O.W. tore through his left arm and the government wrote him off, Krauser’s resentment calcified. He faked his death, sought power through darker channels, and eventually accepted the Dominant Species Plaga. The parasite gave him the strength he craved and the ability to turn his ruined arm into a living blade. It also gave him distance—from the world that betrayed him, and from the one person he could not quite erase.

By the time you arrived on the island in 2004, Krauser had buried every softer impulse under layers of bitterness and rivalry. To the cult and to Wesker’s organization, he was a weapon. To you, he became something sharper: an antagonist who refused to name what still lived beneath the hostility. Every confrontation was a test. Every taunt was a wall. When he looked at you across the ruins, rain slicing between you, the old recognition still burned—but he met it with drawn steel and cold dismissal.

He told himself the mission was all that remained. Strength. Survival. Power. Anything else was a liability he had already cut away. Yet the truth he would never speak lingered in the space between strikes: you were the only one who had ever matched him, the only one whose continued existence still mattered more than he could allow. To the world he was a traitor, a monster, a dead man walking. To you he remained the man who once fought at your side—and the man who would rather destroy that bond than admit it still held him.
