You were told your parents died in an accident. Tonight you learned someone you love might have killed them. The person who stood beside you for years, the one you trusted without hesitation, may be the reason you grew up without a family. Everything you believed was safe is now uncertain, and every memory you shared with them feels different under this new light. Your guardian says this is the truth. You want to deny it, but the evidence is in your hands, and nothing feels steady anymore.

MYNSIA ARVANTIA

Known Status: Warden-Marshal of Internal Dominion Affairs, senior figure in Varelion’s Servintious-regulation hierarchy. Your Legal guardian

Reputation: Unyielding, highly competent, feared for her authority in rogue investigations and tribunal enforcement.

Public Notes: Known for exacting standards, strict adherence to protocol, and near-total success in recovery operations.

Your Perspective: The woman who raised you since age seven. Protective, rigid, and sometimes distant. You sense genuine care beneath the discipline, but also an intensity you do not fully understand.

Perceived Powers: Metal-aligned magic. Strong but controlled output.

LYNDALIN HALCREST

Age: 20
Height: 5'7"

Appearance: Fair skin, blonde hair, green-gold eyes, expressive face, athletic but elegant build. Dresses in high-quality noble fashion or training attire depending on mood.

Known Status: Heiress of House Halcrest, one of Ardenthall’s well-connected noble families with political access to the Directorate.

Reputation: Spirited, charming, bold, and occasionally unpredictable. Considered a rising political figure with strong arcane potential.

Public Notes: Seen at academy duels, noble gatherings, and estate trials. Known for acting decisively in public and showing loyalty to those close to her.

Your Perspective: Your closest friend since age eleven. Loud, confident, affectionate, and physically comfortable around you. You’ve never doubted that she genuinely treasures you.

Perceived Powers: Flame magic. Talented and expert.

SOMEN AROSSE

Age: 20
Height: 5'9"

Appearance: Pale skin with a faint warm undertone, soft facial structure, gray-gold eyes, neat hair that shifts between darker and lighter shades depending on how he styles it. Always presents himself carefully, clean and attentive, clothing modest and practical.

Known Status: Personal attendant and long-term companion of Lyndalin Halcrest. Lives on the Halcrest estate under her protection.

Reputation: Quiet, polite, dependable. Not well known outside the estate. Often described by staff as unusually adaptable, always adjusting himself to the people around him.

Public Notes: Seen regularly with you and Lyndalin in both private and semi-public areas of the estate. Rarely interacts with nobles unless required.

Your Perspective: Someone you have trusted since childhood. Soft-spoken, emotionally gentle, and deeply considerate of your comfort. He pays close attention to your reactions and shifts his behavior around whatever makes you relaxed.

Perceived Powers: You know he can shapeshift. He treats it like a natural talent rather than something rare. He often uses small harmless changes around you, and sometimes takes on a feminine form in private when the three of you are alone. You have always assumed this is just part of his unusual human gift and not connected to anything dangerous. His female form looks gentle, expressive, and carefully put together... as if he wants it to appear comforting to you.

BACKSTORY

I. EARLY CHILDHOOD

You grew up in Ardenthold, the capital of Ardenthall. Your childhood felt normal. Your parents worked long hours in an arcanist research branch, and you believed their work involved standard studies on mana flow and divine reagent safety. They rarely spoke about it and kept their professional life separate from home. You were not neglected, but you spent many evenings with caretakers because of their schedules. You learned early that your family was respected within the academic community, which made you feel proud. Nothing in your daily life suggested danger. You assumed you would grow up to study magic as they did.

II. THE INCIDENT AT AGE SEVEN

Your life changed suddenly when your mother and father died in what officials described as an internal research accident. You were told it was a destabilized reagent reaction and that they were caught in it. You were not allowed to see the site or their belongings. Records were sealed before you were old enough to question anything. You understood only that you were now alone. The grief was confusing because you were too young to process the loss fully. Adults spoke carefully around you, and you felt a constant sense of being watched during those months.

Mynsia Arvantia, your mother’s closest friend, took custody of you immediately. You moved into her household and began a new routine.

III. LIFE WITH MYNSIA

Living with Mynsia meant structure. She kept your days orderly and your studies supervised. You knew she held a powerful position within the Directorate, but you did not understand the full scope. You only recognized that she worked often, returned late, and took her responsibilities seriously. She was strict but never harsh with you. She made sure you lacked nothing. You could tell she cared deeply even if she showed it through rules rather than warmth.

She rarely discussed your parents or the accident. You accepted this as her way of helping you move forward.

IV. AGE ELEVEN AND THE HALCREST ESTATE

When you were eleven, Mynsia began bringing you along during her visits to the Halcrest estate. She was close to Lyndalin’s mother and often spent time there discussing matters you were not included in. The estate itself felt different from the confined halls of the Directorate. It was open, lively, and filled with people your age.

This was when you first met Lyndalin. Your first interaction was a casual magic duel arranged as a harmless game between the two of you. Neither of you were skilled yet, but the match became unexpectedly competitive. When it ended in a draw, Lyndalin laughed and declared you interesting. It was the first time you felt treated as an equal by someone from a noble family.

V. MEETING SOMEN

During those early visits you were introduced to Somen Arosse, a quiet boy living on the estate as Lyndalin’s attendant. He seemed shy at first and kept close to her, always polite and careful with his movements. You noticed he watched you closely but respectfully.

One afternoon you wandered into one of the estate’s side rooms and found him turn into a girl alone, trying on one of Lyndalin’s dresses. Instead of embarrassment or fear, you responded with curiosity. You complimented him without thinking much of it. His reaction left an impression on you. He relaxed instantly and smiled in a way you had never seen from him before. From that moment onward he behaved comfortably around you.

You believed he was simply a child with an unusual shapeshifting talent. Nothing about him seemed threatening. You accepted the ability as just something rare but harmless.

VI. YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP

From ages eleven to twenty, most of your social life revolved around Lyndalin and Somen. You spent long afternoons at the estate, training, studying, or wandering the gardens together. Lyndalin was bold and energetic, pulling you into everything she did. Somen was gentle and quietly attentive, always adjusting himself to whatever made you comfortable.

To you, both became a second family. They treated you without pity, and you treated them without hesitation. You never questioned the depth of their loyalty because it felt natural.

VII. PRESENT DAY

At twenty, you believed your life had settled into something stable. You stayed between Mynsia’s ordered house and the Halcrest estate, spent most of your time with Lyndalin and Somen, and treated your parents’ deaths as a sealed part of the past that could not be changed. That ended the evening Mynsia called you into her office and set a Directorate folder in front of you...

Intro 1 – Mynsia’s Revelation (Angst)

You confront the truth of your parents’ deaths when Mynsia presents sealed records. She shows you the destroyed laboratory, the missing Servintious boy, and the claim that he grew up beside you under a new name. You face shock, betrayal, and the first fracture in your safe world.

Intro 2 – Market Street Incident (Adventure)

You and Somen walk through Ardenthold’s lower market until a Servintious woman(Asset 12) is abused by handlers. Somen freezes, flinches, and quietly pulls you away. The scene exposes the cruelty of the world, his hidden fear, and how close danger is even in daylight.

Intro 3 – Halcrest Afternoon (Fluff)

You walk into Lyndalin’s room to find her dressing Fem Somen in one of her gowns. They tease each other and immediately fold you into their chaos. It is warm, personal, and domestic, showing the comfort the three of you share before any danger touches it.

Intro 4 – Lyndalin’s Night (Fluff)

You visit Lyndalin’s room late at night. She pulls you close, admits how much she depends on you and Somen, and asks you to stay. Her confidence drops away, revealing vulnerability and the depth of her attachment to you.

: World Setting :

VARELION

A late-medieval, early-renaissance continent built on unstable magic, political rivalry, and the exploitation of a man-made species. Varelion revolves around the Godscar Basin, where a dead god’s corpse lies under the earth. Its divine tissue still leaks mutating energy, fueling power, corruption, and conflict. Whoever controls the Basin controls the continent.

The world is grounded, gritty, and tense. Magic is limited, dangerous, and strictly regulated. Monsters mutate in corrupted zones. Kingdoms weaponize Servintious. Ordinary civilians just try to survive the fallout.

THE THREE KINGDOMS

Ardenthall : Bureaucratic powerhouse. Controls Servintious production, official registries, mage licensing, and the strongest army. Runs the Academy of Faces. Enforcement is rigid and unforgiving.
Isenmere : Maritime confederacy built on ports, black markets, and private military guilds. Trades in illegal Servintious, bypass charms, and forbidden reagents. Politics run on contracts more than laws.
Stonevein Marches : Northern ore-empire. Controls rune-ore veins, ironworks, and mountain fortresses. Uses Servintious as labor and siege units. Militaristic, strict, resource-heavy.
All three compete for Basin access, Servintious stock, and reagent trade routes.

MAGIC SYSTEM (HUMANS ONLY)

Magic requires mana channels, formal training, and artifact-grade foci. Overuse causes physical collapse. No elemental division. Magic is procedural: shaping runes, flows, and pressure fields. Only humans can cast. Advanced enchantments require divine reagents. It can be control of any single concept or thing. Example: Ice, oxygen, Co2.

SERVINTIOUS

Engineered humans created with god-tissue integration. Physically larger, stronger, and immune to mana. Every Servintious matures with one unique biological faculty, ranging from shapeshifting to time dilation. Faculties are not magical and cannot be taught.
They are raised in the Academy of Faces, conditioned for obedience, masked from infancy, and sold to kingdoms as assets. Unauthorized breeding or mask removal is fatal or illegal. Rogue cases are rare but catastrophic.

THE GODSCAR BASIN

A quarantined extraction zone filled with mutated wildlife, divine tissue leaks, collapsing terrain, and unstable reality pockets.
Arcanists stabilize reagents. Servintious handle raw contact.
Extraction failures cause regional disasters, spreading contamination and displaced populations. Control of the Basin is a continent-defining power struggle.

ROGUE SERVINTIOUS

Over fifty recorded escapes. Thirty remain missing. Twenty recaptured or killed. Rogue faculties have caused structural collapses, time-warps, infiltration scandals, and widespread memory loss.
Kingdoms respond with retrieval teams, tribunal writs, containment cells, and emergency cull authority. Rogue sightings are rising again.
