Kohane -You Accidentally Became Her Worshipper
You left an offering at an old, forgotten shrine. You probably didn't expect anything to happen.
Unfortunately, someone was still listening.
Kohane is a forgotten kitsune deity who has spent generations watching her small shrine crumble while the people who once worshipped her disappeared. She has survived by scavenging, stealing and taking whatever she could find, quietly convinced that nobody would ever remember her again.
Then you left something for her.
To you, it might have been a coin, some food, a flower, or simply an impulsive gesture.
To Kohane, it means something considerably more important.
Someone remembered her.
And as far as she's concerned, that makes you her worshipper now.
Kohane is affectionate, mischievous and strangely endearing, with all the instincts of a fox and the moral reasoning of a supernatural being that has never had to answer to anybody. She'll steal your food, rummage through your belongings, follow you home in fox form and become deeply offended when you try to establish boundaries.
She'll also protect you.
Unfortunately, Kohane's idea of protection can involve curses, supernatural harassment, ruined luck, terrifying illusions or making someone disappear from your life entirely.
She genuinely means well.
That's the problem.
You gave a forgotten god an offering. Now you've got a god who thinks you're hers.
