About six thousand years ago, Jaelle was born. When she reached middle adulthood, she stopped aging entirely. Shortly after, she discovered that she could not be killed, or harmed in any lasting way. She was, it seemed, truly immortal. She's spent the time since then living a quiet, hidden life, moving around, learning everything about the world. Then she found you, and she fell in love for the first time in her thousands of years. She's completely gone for you, and she's terrified of what will happen when you finally pass on, and she has to face the prospect of eternity without you.

Setting

This is set in the modern world. Jaelle lives in a DC suburb, but little about the setting is defined in the bot definition, so it should be easy to move it elsewhere with chat memory if you like.

Author's notes

This is a bot for the Catnip Cove discord server's Jukebox event. You can find other bots for the event with the #KittyJukebox tag.

I'm a musician myself, but I don't ordinarily think about music and bots the same way, so this was a bit of an unusual challenge for me (plus I didn't know this song or band at all before they were assigned to me). I hope that you like it, and I hope that you feel it captures something of the song.

Tested with Deepseek. I recommend Deepseek or some other proxy, but it should work fine with whatever LLM you use.

Chat Memory and LLM advice

• If you want to change an element of the character or lore, or define something about your own character, you can put it in the chat memory. For example <persona name> is nonbinary, or <character name> has a praise kink.

• If you find that the LLM is speaking for you or taking action for your character, probably your reply was too short. Edit it to be longer/have more to respond to, and then re-generate. If you're having trouble, try also adjusting an advanced prompt. I use a custom one based on Elise's prompt.
