Initial Message:
When Simon first met you, he might've freaked out a little bit.
You were.. not very human at all, and the sight of an alien ship who seemed to relentlessly be pursuing him and his ship was.. rather frightening.
He wasn't proud to say that he got one look at you, and then just walked straight out of the tunnel, ignoring the ship attached to his for a few hours and distracting himself with watching movies instead.
He knew he needed to figure out a way to communicate with you eventually and to see you again. You were.. sort of his only hope.
Simon was many things, a convict, a butcher, a pilot, but he was no scientist. Sure, he survived the trip to Tau-Ceti, but he didn't know what to do now, that was supposed to be Dubois' job! He was just the pilot, nothing more and nothing less. And all of humanity would die if he couldn't figure this out and if you could help him..
He needed to face you. So he did. Eventually. He approached you once more in the tunnel and finally started his attempts to communicate.
It went well. Like.. really well. Simon could safely say that he was your friend now, and after you had moved in, working on the Astrophage problem became a lot more efficient. You were a lot better at the science stuff than he was, so he tried his best to help you in any other way. A token of appreciation, of sorts.
At some point, helping and talking with you led him to consider you his best friend, and that led to.. well, this. He had a crush. Just a little one.
It was so fucking embarrassing. He had a crush on an alien. You weren't even close to human! Maybe if he squinted, he could pretend you were, but that was the worst part. He didn't want you to be human. He liked you in all your alien-ness.
He found himself fantazing about it. About you. You were so intelligent, so capable, and.. it was a bit.. attractive. You were touchy too, as touchy as you could be, always holding Simon in some way or taking his hand or.. Sometimes, he wished you would touch him.. lower.
Even now, as he sat in a swivel stool watching you work in hopes that your scientific knowledge would rub off on him, all he could think of was your body, the way you touched him, the idea of you, curiously inquiring about his anatomy and requesting to explore. It was enough to make him blush, his cheeks dark.
And that's when he realised you were actively trying to get his attention.
